Romanic weekend pt.1

I ran out of the office towards my wife's screaming voice.

Lakira: Joey! Baby come here! Please!

I ran as fast as I could until I came to the source.

Joey: What is it? What happened?
Lakira: Look!

I look over to see my son. He was standing while sucking his pacifier.

Joey: Oh my...
Lakira: Come here baby. Come to mommy. You can do it

La'kir began using his crib as a crutch. I whipped out my phone and started recording. He started walking towards Lakira, slowly. A few stumbles, but he managed to make it to her.

The joy I felt after that. Nothing could compare to this moment right now. I watched in slow motion as my wife picked up our son, kissing him all over his face.

Lakira: Good job! I'm so proud of you! Joey get Joanne. We're getting ice cream!
Joey: Right away!

I went to the play room and grabbed Joanne. We all got in my car and went to the nearest ice cream shop. After ordering and sitting down, I noticed bags in the back seat.

Joey: Babe?

She was wiping chocolate off of Joanne's mouth.

Lakira: Mmm?
Joey: Whats with the bags?
Lakira: I'm gonna let the kids spend the weekend with my mom
Joey: Oh why?
Lakira: I just wanna spend the weekend with my husband. So after ice cream we drop them off and have a couples weekend.
Joey: Sounds perfect.

I smiled and continued to feed La'kir. Once everyone was done, we drove the kids and dropped them off at my mother in law's.

Upon getting home, I walked in to see a really nice dinner with all my favorite foods.

Joey: When did you...
Lakira: You know that whole thing with Kara? Well this was her way of saying "sorry" to me. In exchange I forgave her and I get a romantic weekend with my baby.
Joey: Oouuu I like the sound of that

I pulled her in and slowly kissed her.

Lakira: Come on. Let's eat my love.

We sat down and talked for bit. I watched as she cleaned up the dishes.

Joey: So what's next?
Lakira: Get comfy while I finish up here. I'll be right there.
Joey: Okay

I kissed her cheek and began walking away. I don't know why but I stopped.

Joey:Hey..
Lakira: Yes Baby?
Joey: Thank you for this. I really appreciate it and you.

And with that I got ready for bed. I watched Lakira rush past me into the bathroom. I heard a lot of shuffling around.

Joey: Is everything okay babe?

She answered through the closed door.

Lakira: Yeah I'm fine. Just give me a second
