Joey's pov- It's been about a month or so since the pregnancy reveal party. Lakira is getting ready for her doctors appointment, while I'm getting Joanne and La'kir ready for my mom's house.
Joanne: Daddy why don't I go to regular school? Joey: Your mommy pays a lot of money for private tutoring Joanne: But I don't have any friends Joey: I never thought about that. Hmmm let me talk to mommy and I'll get back to you Joanne: Okay! Joey: Alright. Go wait in the living room, Apple
She nodded and walked to the living room. I picked up La'kir and his diaper bag then went to the bathroom where Lakira, was putting on makeup.
Joey: I remember you telling me that you don't even wear makeup like that. Back when we were 17 Lakira: That was 7 years ago baby. I've gotten married, had two kids, and supported a family by myself Joey: And still so beautiful Lakira: Mmm sure Joey: Joanne asked me something just now Lakira: What she ask you? Joey: She wants to know why she isn't in regular school Lakira: Because I pay a lot of money for private lessons Joey: She doesn't have any friends, babe. She wants this. Lakira: I don't know.. Joey: Think about it babe. I think it would be good for her and La'kir when he gets there. Not to mention these two nuggets here.
I placed my hand on her stomach and chuckled
Lakira: I'll consider it Joey: Great. And be ready soon, because we don't wanna be late. Lakira: Okay husband Joey: Thank you wife
After another five minutes, Lakira was finally ready. First we dropped off Joanne and La'kir then headed to the doctors office. Once we got there, we checked in and waited for Lakira's name to be called.
Nurse: Lakira Birlem? Lakira: That's me. Nurse: Right this way Mr and Mrs. Birlem
The nurse led us to the ultrasound room. The doctor came in and had Lakira lay back in the chair.
Doctor: Hello. I'm Dr. Olivia Korey Lakira: Lakira Birlem and this is my husband Joey Joey: Nice to meet you
I shook her hand
Doctor: So how far along are you? Lakira: About a month I believe Doctor: Alright let me take a look at your charts and we can get started Lakira: Sounds good
She looked at Lakira's file.
Doctor: So this is your third pregnancy? Joey: Yep Doctor: Any symptoms going on? Lakira: The women and my family almost always experience nausea around the second week. I can't stand the smell of cinnamon. I'll lose whatever I ate that day Doctor: Oh wow. Why don't we just take a look? Could you unbutton your jeans and lift up your shirt for me? Lakira: Sure
Lakira did as she was told. The doctor put on a pair or rubber gloves and grabbed some gel.
Doctor: This is gonna be a little bit cold Lakira: I know the drill
Dr.Korey applied the gel onto Lakira and then began the ultrasound.
Doctor: It's gonna take a second to find the embryos since it's a little early
She searched for a second.
Joey: Do you see anything? Doctor: Yep. Right there is the first one and then there's the second one. Twins Lakira: Does everything look okay?

Joey: Are we good? Doctor: Everything looks fine here. Lakira: Great! Could we get the picture please? Doctor: Of course.
The appointment went well. The doctor gave us the picture and walked us out. We picked up the kids and went home. I stopped Lakira before she walked into our bathroom.
Joey: So about the public school thing Lakira: Right. I'm still thinking.
She walked into the bathroom and closed the door. I sat down on the bed and stared out the window.
