The Hood Girl: Her Past

Lakira's pov-
I laid there on the table playing with a stress ball. I had them get Olivia over.

Olivia: Alright. How do you feel?
Lakira: Like I'm about to have a C-section
Olivia: It's a very simple procedure. That I'm starting now.
Lakira: Okay. I'm ready
Olivia: Alright making the first incision.

I didn't feel any pain. Just the sensation of the scalpel. The nurse held my hand while Olivia did my surgery.

Olivia: Taking out baby number 1

Olivia handed the baby to the nurses. After a minute the baby started crying. I sighed in relief.

Olivia: Now taking out baby number 2. How's it's going Sarah?
Sarah: This baby is a kicker. Damn
Lakira: That's Mona. She's gonna play soccer
Olivia: That's good. Sarah here's baby number 2
Lakira: Alina. That's Alina. I have no idea what she's gonna do but that's Alina

Alina started crying loudly.

Sarah: Singer 100%. She's got lungs
Lakira: That's great. That's.. great.

Joey's pov-
I woke up seeing Lakira holding the twins. I walked over smiling.

Joey: When did you get out?
Lakira: An hour ago. I wanted to let you sleep.
Joey: Why?
Lakira: Because neither of us are getting sleep for the next few months
Joey: True
Lakira: So anyways. This one is Alina. She's 6 pounds and 14 ounces. Shes's gonna be a singer because she has great lungs.

She handed her to me.

Joey: Hi Alina. I'm your daddy. Wow she's perfect.
Lakira: And this one is Mona. Our future soccer star. She is 7 pounds and 4 ounces
Joey: Oh wow.
Lakira: I know. I know. I love them
Joey: Me too. But they don't look alike?
Lakira: Fraternal twins. So we can't accidentally switch them at least.
Joey: Oh great because I was worried about that.

I handed Alina back to Lakira and went to sign the birth certificates and discharge papers. Once we got everything situated, I drove Lakira and the kids home.

Lakira: Remember. No sex for 6 weeks
Joey: You mean no sex for the next 2 years
Lakira: True true.

When we got to the house, Liberty was waiting outside. I had her take the twins while I carried Lakira into the house.

Liberty: Ohhhh look at them.

Everyone else walked in quietly.

Joey: Everyone this is Alina and Mona.
Lakira: Alina is gonna be our singer and Mona is gonna be a soccer player
Jen: They're so perfect
Bella: Absolutely adorable
Sophia: They look just like Lakira
Joey: And me right?
Sophia: You lightened their skin tone
Liberty: Joanne, Molly. Come over here
Joanne: They're so... small
Molly: I like Alina. She has a cute nose
Joanne: Mona has pretty eyes. Like daddy
Joey: Thank you Apple.

The family admired the babies. They passed them around. I smiled seeing them all together, happy. Kara and Aaron seemed really excited. I have a feeling  it won't be the two of them for much longer.

Joey: Lakira I—

She was asleep on the couch. I picked her up and carried her away to our bed room, leaving everyone with the babies. I tucked her in and then kneeled down next to her.

Joey: I'm happy I did this with you. We've been through hell together and I wouldn't wanna do it with anyone else. Not the hottest model, the screaming fans I had back then, or even girlfriends from 6th grade.

I chuckled a little while stroking her hair.

Joey: You're so beautiful. And you've given me beautiful children and even convinced me to adopt another beautiful girl. I'm lucky to have you. I'm glad I fell in love with you, Lakira Rae Sky. Regardless of your past. All I care about is our future.
