Kara's pov-
I woke up with Aaron next to me. His loud snoring ceased, when I smacked him awake.

Aaron: Ow!
Kara: How did this happen? I said no sex
Aaron: We didn't have sex. We both just happen to sleep naked
Kara: Sure. But what time is it?

He grabbed his phone and checked the time.

Aaron: 10:46am
Kara: Oh shit. I gotta get ready.
Aaron: For what?
Kara: The ultrasound so I can plan the actual gender reveal
Aaron: Okay
Kara: You better get those decorations like I asked you last night
Aaron: Okay
Kara: And don't forget to pick up those outfits I bought
Aaron: Dont worry babe. I got this
Kara: Good.

I brushed my teeth and threw on a black crop top, my yellow plaid skirt, and my black combat boots. Before leaving, I brushed my hair and kissed Aaron.

Kara: I'll be back. Bye
Aaron: Bye

I got in my car and raced to Lakira's house. She was already waiting in her driveway for me.

Kara: Get in loser. We're going to your ultrasound appointment
Lakira: You're so lame
Kara: I'm kidding. Get in.

She hopped in my car and we made our way to the office. After a few minutes, they called her name and we saw Dr.Korey

Lakira: And we're back
Olivia: 19 weeks. How you feeling?
Lakira: Pretty good. Nausea isn't as bad so yeah I'm pretty good.
Olivia: Nice to see you again Kara
Kara: You as well Olivia
Olivia: So just the ultrasound or are we gonna find out the genders?
Kara: We're gonna find out the genders
Lakira: And you're not gonna tell me. You're gonna tell Kara
Kara: We're planning a gender reveal cookout
Lakira: and we would love for you to come.

She handed Olivia an invitation.

Olivia: A black and white party. I'll be there
Lakira: Good.
Olivia: Now why don't we get started. You know the drill. Pants lowered and shirt lifted
Kara: I can't believe you're on your 3rd and 4th child and I haven't even talked to Aaron about moving in
Olivia: This is gonna be cold.

She applied the gel to Lakira's stomach.

Lakira: What? Are you kidding?
Olivia: After how many years?
Kara: We broke up for a while.
Lakira: Yeah for like 2 years and even then you had been together for longer than me and Joey, but then you broke up. And now you're back
Kara: He sleeps over
Lakira: Still it's totally weird how you guys haven't talked about living together
Olivia: Theres the heart beat. Everything looks good and I agree with mom here. It's really weird. My spouse and I moved in together like 3 months into dating
Lakira: Hold up. 3 months? I mean I did as Joey to marry be me at like 8 or 9 months but still.
Olivia: When you know you know. And they were amazing. I knew I loved them the day I met them.
Kara: Why do you keep saying "they" and "them"?
Lakira: Grayson is non-binary. So they're pronouns are "they" and "them"
Kara: Gotcha. So you think I should ask him about it?
Lakira: Yes
Olivia: Definitely. Anyways you ready for the test?
Lakira: I am.
Olivia: I just need to do an anatomy scan so if you could look away from the monitor
Lakira: With pleasure.

Olivia examined the monitor closely. I honestly could barely see anything.

Olivia: Just as I suspected. Alright. Let me go chart this and I'll be back with the envelope. Be back in like 5 minutes.
Kara: Alright

She left out of the room, while writing stuff on her clipboard.

Lakira: This is so exciting. You're about to find out what I'm having
Kara: I already think I found an idea for the reveal.
Lakira: Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! You're literally the best.
Kara: I know I am.

I awkwardly smiled at her while she cleaned off her stomach. Honestly I lied. I still have no idea what I'm gonna do. She said unique. And I want the best for my best friend.

Olivia: I'm back. Here inside this envelope is the genders of Lakira's babies
Kara:I'll guard it with my life
Lakira: Alright. Thank you Olivia
Olivia: No problem.
Kara: We'll see you later

Once we signed some papers, we left the doctors office. Lakira suggested ihop because she wanted pancakes.

Kara: I can pay this time
Lakira: But you payed for subway
Kara: So? You're about to give me advice on how to talk to Aaron.
Lakira: Fair enough. What's he doing right now?
Kara: He texted me half an hour ago. Pretty sure he's at the store now.
Lakira: Well okay then. Does he have a key?
Kara: A key?
Lakira: To your place.
Kara: oh. Yeah he does
Lakira: Then just say the words, "Aaron. I want you to move in with me"
Kara: Just straight forward?
Lakira: Yup. Straight to the point
Kara: Gotcha

We finished eating and I payed for the meal. I drove Lakira home and went back to my apartment. Once I got there, I sat down at my kitchen table and waited for Aaron to come back. He got home after an hour of me staring at the salt shaker, rehearsing what I wanted to say.

Aaron: Hey I'm back. I got the stuff
Kara:We need to talk
Aaron: About what? Am I in trouble?
Kara: No no. It's just there's something that I think should change about us?
Aaron: Whats that?

I took a deep breath.

Kara: Move in with me
Aaron: Okay
Kara: What?
Aaron: Dude. I've been wanting this ever since we first got together
Kara: Why didn't you say that you idiot?
Aaron: I'm a chill person usually but change scares me
Kara: Well get over it because it's happening
Aaron: Good. I'm glad it is.

He smiled and kissed me. I just sat there realizing that I still needed a gender reveal ideal.

Aaron: Are Lakira and Joey having a baby shower?
Kara: What did you say?
Aaron: Baby shower. Are they gonna have one
Kara: Aaron. I literally fucking love you.
Aaron: Umm I love you too?
