In labor

Joey's pov-
It was 4am. I was sitting at the computer researching soccer teams when I heard Lakira screaming. I ran to the bed room.

Joey: Are you okay?
Lakira: My fucking water broke while I was asleep and now I'm having fucking contractions!
Joey: Are you sure?
Lakira: Yes I'm sure you fucking idiot
Joey: Wow I forgot how mean you are when you're in labor
Lakira: I'm not mean. I'm freaking out!
Joey: Okay. Okay just breathe. You're ready. It's been 9 months. Chill out
Lakira: We haven't even told our moms about us adopting Molly. I'm not ready
Joey: The babies obviously are. So just breathe.
Lakira: Get me to the fucking hospital you son of a bitch!
Joey: Okay alright.

I ran to her side of the bed and helped her up. She called Kara to quickly get the kids to the hospital.

Joey: We're leaving them alone?
Lakira: I'm gonna be swearing like a fucking sailor because this shit fucking hurts. So unless you want me to scar our children I suggest you let them be alone for 5 minutes.
Joey: Fair enough.

I drove her to the hospital and went to the nearest doctor. They took her to a room, while I sat there shaking on the phone with my mom. After calling my mom, I called Lakira's. They walked in tiredly.

Jen: Is she okay? You sounded scared over the phone
Joey: Remember when Joanne was born?
Liberty: Oh she's just mean
Sophia: You can't handle a few swears?
Bella: Cute
Joey: I can. It's just. She's never had twins. I mean where did twins even come from?
Liberty: Her father had a twin brother, but he stopped speaking to everyone when my husband died.
Joey: Well that would explain it.

Kara walked in with the kids. I waved her over.

Kara: Hey sorry it took so long. La'kir needed to be changed
Joey: It's fine.
Kara: Yeah. One question. Who is this?
Molly: I'm Molly. I'm Joey's daughter.
Liberty: Daughter?

She pulled me as life, angrily.

Liberty: That child is white. She is a white, red headed child with freckles and green eyes. Who is her mother
Joey: Lakira is. We adopted her. Relax.
Jen: Oh you adopted her? When?
Joey: About 2 months ago
Bella: So, we're gonna steal her and Joanne for a bit.
Joey: Alright that's fine.

We waited around in the hospital for hours. Around 7am I told everyone to just go and stay in my house until the babies were born. Finally a nurse came out and told me to go into the room.

Joey: Hey. How are you?
Lakira: I never told you exactly what happened with the scar
Joey: What?
Lakira: The scar I got when I was put down. You see the night it happened, Dre pulled a knife on me.
Joey: He what?
Lakira: They didn't want some girl there. Someone who could've fucked everything up. So he pulled a knife on me. I got cut and still won. The day after, he told me that the scar would be a reminder of how strong I am. He became my big brother.
Joey: Why are you telling me this?
Lakira: They need to do an emergency C-section
Joey: Why?
Lakira: They just need to. I'll see you later.

They rolled her away and left me alone in the room. I sat down in the chair hoping she would be okay. Hoping that the babies would be okay.
