14 weeks in

Lakira's pov-
I'm 14 weeks into pregnancy and starting to gain weight. I hate this part. I can barely fit into my clothes.

Lakira: Babe! Where are my sweatpants?
Joey: Ummm no clue... check the dresser

I opened the dresser drawer and saw them.

Lakira: Thanks found them!

I put them on and walked into the office where was.

Lakira: So how bout we have a gender reveal party when it comes to the time of finding out the gender?
Joey: Sounds good
Lakira: And I was thinking we could convert the kids play room into a baby room since La'kir will probably be in a toddler bed by the time the babies come.
Joey:. He's one
Lakira: And he'll be two by the time the babies are here
Joey: True.

I walked out to get La'kir from the kids room since I heard him making noise. I peeked through the playroom door to see how Joanne was. She seemed okay, so I walked back to Joey.

Lakira: What do you think little man? Huh? Does baby want his new siblings to have their own room? You can have a big boy bed!
La'kir: B-big boooyy
Joey: Oh my gosh
Lakira: Yes big boy! Say it again
La'kir: Big boy
Joey: He just talked!
Lakira: Then it's settled. Playroom will be turned into a baby room and we'll just have to let the kids play in their room
Joey: Seems risky, but you're the boss
Lakira: And don't forget it. Right? Mommy's the boss!
La'kir: Mommy boss
Lakira: I love this kid

I guess it seems to be the cliché. My daughter is closer to her dad and my son is closer to me. I mean that means there's balance. I'm just concerned about the balance being fractured from having two more girls or two more boys.

Lakira: Let's have a gender reveal party next month after I got with Kara to the doctor. She can plan it since she so good at that.
Joey: Sounds good.
Lakira: O-okay... ummm I'm gonna go make the appointment and then call Kara.
Joey: k

Lately it feels like Joey's been detaching from me. I have no clue why. He's the least of my worries right now, so I'll have to talk to him later. I called the office and made an appointment then immediately called Kara.

-On FaceTime-
Kara: Hey!
Lakira: Hi babes.
Aaron: Hey Lakira.
Lakira: Is that Aaron I see?
Kara: Yeah
Lakira: Alright y'all are obviously back together
Aaron: We are
Lakira: Good. Now Kara would you like to go to my appointment and find out the babies' genders and then plan my gender reveal party for next month?
Kara: I would be honored
Lakira: Great! Thank you so much.
Kara: No problem. Bye love you babes! Text me details
Lakira: Will do! Love you.

I put my phone in my pocket and went back to Joey who was now in the kitchen making a snack.

Lakira: Hey remember about a week after the babies are born I'm gonna working from home so I'm gonna need the office a lot
Joey: Okay
Lakira: Would you mind taking care of 4 kids or should we just hire a nanny?
Joey: I don't know
Lakira: Well I'm only asking because 4 kids is a lot and babies are a lot of work so babies, a toddler, and a six year old? That's a lot of work
Joey: Okay
Lakira: Oh don't forget! Joanne starts first grade in September so once of us is gonna need to get up early to take her. I can do it until I get too pregnant to continuously get up early and drive and—
Joey: Okay! I get it Lakira. Things are gonna change. Just could you stop talking for 5 minutes. That's all I'm asking for. 5 fucking minutes of peace! Gosh!

I was speechless. He had never lashed out at me like that for no reason. I watched as he stormed off into our bed room. I couldn't decide whether I wanted to be calm or blow up on him. After a second to process what just happened, I decided. I walked into our room and saw him sitting on our bed.

Joey: Lakira I already told you-

I held up my finger.

Lakira: No no do not speak. It's my turn. Now I understand you are under a lot of stress because of the pregnancy and the doctor visits and all the changes but just know that I am too. In case you haven't noticed I'm the pregnant one. I'm carrying these gifts from God because you didn't pull out. So I don't want an apology from you since you lashed out at me for no reason. But just know that if you ever think about talking to me again while you're feeling any negative feelings, then remember to take the mother fucking bass out yo damn voice because I am NOT the fucking one. Especially not right now.

He was speechless. I smiled and turned to leave but then stopped.

Lakira: You're sleeping in the guest room tonight by the way.

After informing him of his sleeping arrangements, I went to the playroom to get the kids, then went to the kitchen and started making lunch.

Lakira: That's the calmest I've ever been while pregnant and mad at someone. Good on me.
Joanne: Mommy?
Lakira: Yes Baby?
Joanne: Why was daddy being mean to you?
Lakira: Dont worry about that baby. Eat your sandwich while I go get your brother's yogurt.

I got La'kir his yogurt and started feeding him. He grabbed the spoon out of my hand and started feeding himself. He made a mess, but it was still cute. Once they were done I let Joanne watch some cartoons while I gave La'kir a bath.

Lakira: You're just growing up on me aren't you. My baby is growing up. Pretty soon you're gonna be driving and bring home girls I'm gonna judge harshly because nobody will ever be good enough for my sweet boy

He started laughing and splashing around.

Lakira: That's right. Nobody is good enough for my son

I saw Joey watching through the reflection of the mirror. He looked so sad. I wanted to talk to him, but I felt like he was still angry. After a while he walked away and closed the guest room door. I took La'kir out of the tub, and dried him off before putting him in a new diaper and onsie.

Joanne: Mommy!! Let's watch Frozen!
Lakira: But it's June
Joanne: So?!
Lakira: Good point. Okay. We can have Ramen for dinner

I knew that if we watched Frozen, then we'd have to watch Frozen 2 and then every known Disney movie. I took La'kir to the living room, where I put on Frozen and sat next to Joanne. She watched excitedly while I tried my hardest not to fall asleep.

Before I knew it, it was six o'clock. I got up still holding La'kir and made the ramen. After handing a bowl to Joanne, then made some for me and La'kir. We continued watching Disney movies, until it was bed time. I had Joanne do her night routine by herself while I washed the dishes and took care of her brother. Once he was done, I laid him down in his crib and waited till he fell asleep.

Joanne: I'm done
Lakira: Alright. Goodnight baby
Joanne: Goodnight mommy

I kissed her forehead and then went to my room so I could get ready for bed. Joey walked in, brushed his teeth, grabbed clothes, and then walked out. Not a single word was said. He didn't even look at me. It made me sad, but I just went got into my bed. It didn't feel right without Joey, so I got up and slept in the guest room with him.
