Lakira's Pov-
I washed the dishes while Joey watched me. I told him to go get comfortable. I heard him walking away but then he just started talking. I heard what he said and it just did something to me. I finished washing the dishes and rushed into the bathroom. I called Kara because I needed advice.

~Phone call-
Kara:Hey what's up?
Lakira: I need your help
Kara:Whats wrong? Are you hiding in the bathroom?
Lakira:Yes!
Kara:Why?
Lakira:Because...

I sighed.

Kara:You can tell me. I know things have been rocky and that's my fault but I'm your best friend. Talk L. Please.
Lakira: Well okay. Joey loved the dinner. We had a chance to talk. La'kir took his first steps today Kara
Kara:Well that's great babes. What's wrong?
Lakira: It's like ever since I left I've missed out on everything. And Joey. He's the love of my life and I've been holding back.

I realized I was moving around a lot. I heard Joey through the door.

Joey: Is everything okay babe?
Lakira:Yeah I'm fine. Just give me a second.

I looked back at my phone.

Kara: Are you ready for that?
Lakira:I... think I am.
Kara: I was hoping you'd say that. I have a gift for you and Joey
Lakira: Besides the dinner?
Kara:Yeah. Look in your bottom right drawer.

I went to the closet and opened the drawer to see lingerie. Red lingerie.

Lakira:What the-
Kara: Thank me later. You can do this. I love you. Bye.

She ended the FaceTime. I grabbed the lingerie and looked in the mirror.

Lakira:You can do this. I know you can.

I put the lingerie and the robe on and took one last breath.
