Chapter 10 - The Trial of The Flash

Barry has been convicted for murdering DeVoe.
we were currently in the Cortex as Barry was under house arrested.

Barry wrapped his arm around my waist. " This is exactly what DeVoe wanted. I mean, we all played right into his plan, especially me." Barry said

Why would DeVoe want to orchestrate all of this?" Iris asked.

I don't know, but we know that this started when I was still in the Speed Force." Barry answered.

But why target Dominic?" Joe questioned.

Dominic's power must allowed DeVoe to inhabit his body. We should've been on top of this earlier." Harry says to everyone.

What about the other metas on the bus?" Caitlin questioned. " Why create them?"

Part of a larger plan?" Harry said

I then notice Barry itched his ankle monitor. " How are you even here right, now, Allen?" Ralph asked him. " Aren't you on house arrest?"

Yeah." Barry answered and gestured towards Cisco.

He's at Joe's, actually." Cisco says to Ralph. " Either that or the courthouse.. I managed to hack into the ankle monitor GPS."

That's not the only thing Cisco hacked." I spoke up, looking at everyone. " When you came out of the Speed Force, you were talking gibberish at C.C.P.D. You said something about no wanting to kill anyone."

I digitally scrubbed a video. Last thing we want is somebody hearing something we don't want them to hear." Cisco said

Cisco pulled up the footage on the monitor." Your Honor, I'm innocent. I didn't do this. I didn't kill anyone."

Yeah, I mean, I don't remember saying any of that." Barry shrugged.

You don't?" Harry asked.

No." Barry answered.

We should look at everything else he said when he first came out of the Speed Force. Might give us a clue." Harry suggested.

That's a good idea." Joe stated, nodding his head.

Okay, guys, but remember, I mean, considering all the evidence they have against me, this trial is not even gonna last very long." Barry said.

Okay, but with Cecile taking a leave of absence to represent you, you got the best lawyer in town." Caitlin assured Barry.

Yeah." Barry nodded, smiling.

I mean, even if they did find you guilty, it's not like any prison can hold you." Cisco said to Barry as Ralph nods his head.

Well, I'm not gonna run." Barry told everyone. " I wont be a fugitive. If I'm convicted, I have to go to prison. "

We're not gonna let that happen." Iris stated

Right. Let's get to work.." Harry said to everyone.

Once everyone was out of the Cortex, leaving just Barry and I.

We should get to the courthouse." Barry says

Yeah." I nodded

How you doing?" Barry asked

They say the first year of marriage is always the hardest, but I never thought my husband being on trial for murder would be one of the challenges." I answered, wrapping my arms around his neck.

We have been through so much." Barry told me, smiling. " We'll get through this too."

Will we, Barry?" I questioned. " I know the Speed Force gave you a new outlook on life, but... I don't know if being positive is enough right now."
