💫Twenty-Third Pleasure💫

-------------------------------------------------

Humans you see, are alike to cats.

Yes, you heard me. I see many similarities between both. Cunning, deceiving, solitary, independent, but they have their adorable moments as well.

The true reason why there are so many cat analogies. Cue the cat puns. A particular one is; being curious like a cat. This type of ability gives us an enticing to explore the world around us more. Because many millenniums and counting we have only seen a fraction of the true picture. So, we can't help but wonder and wander.

Somehow behind an answer hid another question. Why is the sky blue? Why is the grass green?

Of course, it starts off with the classic childish questions spurring every now and then out of every kid's mouth. A part of their endless curiosity. But these are questions that will be answered step by step on its own. Probably when they'll grow up and understand everything by using their scientific physics knowledge.

But since this is the age of the internet I'm sure dear old Google will answer them in an instant. The endless statements always start off at first innocently. Like in the first case they're all about knowing the order of nature and the surrounding world.

Then we stumble onto other bigger problems. Why do I live? Why do I love it? Why do I exist?

The most unanswered questions by mankind. The scale of difficulty has risen more and more thus entering the deep territory. We've probably wondered the meaning of these our whole entire life. Not just our generation but even others before us.

That's it.

I don't have an answer. Nobody does. And if I do say something wrong I will probably get canceled...

UGHHHHH, WHY IS MY BRAIN HURTING SO MUCH???

...

"Gah! This is so frustrating!" I whine loudly as I scribble everything in messy swirls ready to tear the paper apart.

"Writer's block, huh?" A voice I'm not too fond of, yet I know makes an uncanny appearance.

"None of your business," I spit back harshly while putting my hand on its face shoving it away. I need to prevent the animal from peeking onto my unfinished and chaotic diary entry.

"The topic is interesting, yet difficult," it ponders for a while as it turns its look back at me. "Why did you chose it?"

I stay silent before I'm ready to answer, "I don't know. It was always something I wondered."

"What's up with you and philosophy, Platoon? Plus, you aren't a machine that needs to spew out your own detailed analysis of everything! You have to chill sometimes." The wolf lays back on the grass filled field as its fur is caressed by the last rays of the setting Sun.

"HEY!" I snap back at the wolf, "You're actually right about the last parts..."

However, when I see my companion just standing doing nothing really irks a nerve, "Are you here to help or what?"

"Well unfortunately yes. I'm your guardian after all." A sly smile matches the mischievous glint on its silvery irises. "Can't wait to finish this job though."

That definitely hurt my poor fragile heart, so I return it with a petty pout. Nonetheless, my eyes trail back to the messy sheet of paper. I click the pen endlessly while squeezing my brain juices to get some sort of inspiration.

Nothing.

I go back once again to my childish antics sighing dramatically. Acknowledging my discomfort the wolf beside me tries something to ease up my worries. By striking me with the most jaw-dropping epiphany.

"The answer is you."

Eyes widening on the answer, while still processing it leaves me a bit spaced out. But, the wolf goes speaks again.

"Don't you get it? It's as simple as that. Though it isn't scientifically nor philosophically proven. But it does lessen your worries so it's better to go with that."

In a way, I can't help but agree. Imagine this. You're stuck thinking the unthinkable you'll never be able to do the impossible that is calling out for you. If you'll think more and more you'll wear yourself out, dragging into a nightmare held only by the strings of fear and panic. Maybe you think that the answer to the question will hold the power to the future, but no it's just you. Everything changes solely by you. So start doing something, anything for yourself.

So I guess we never needed a why. Apparently, humans love distractions to blind ourselves from the right-to-our-face answer. Things certainly aren't as they seem, but they don't always need to be a BuzzFeed unsolved. So with new ideas, I start scribbling everything. Finally tearing the page apart and writing something new.

...

Even if you're questioning more and more into an infinite cycle. Don't bother, you being you is enough of an answer.

...

Short, simple, and sweet.

"Thanks." The words of gratitude flow genuinely out of my mouth matching the smile I'm giving to the wolf beside me. Or better yet, to my friend beside me.
