I sat on my couch just thinking. I was still sore from when Kind hit me with that bat. I didn't know what she meant when she said show her. I didn't know how.
But what I did know is she wasn't playing with my ass. Now I knew what it would take for her to just leave me. She don't like abuse. Hell nobody do, but she the wrong one to try it wit.
There was a knock on my door and I went to open it seeing my brother's.
"What the hell y'all doing here? How y'all find out where I live?" I asked.
"Yo lil shawty helped us out." Darius said and I rolled my eyes.
"You gon let us in?" Quan asked and I stepped aside letting them in. It was silent for a moment until Darius broke it.
"We killed pops." He said and i nodded not really caring.
"So it's just us now huh?" I asked and they nodded.
"Y'all all I got. Far as family family." I said and they nodded.
"We know, and we gon be there." Quan said and I shook my head.
"Now? It's to late. I'm about to turn 18 next month. I been living on my own. I really don't need y'all. Jamiya needed y'all. And y'all left her for what?" I asked.
"Hold on, hold on. I'm tired of you just saying that like we was just gone not doing a damn thing. Nigga we was on the street tryna get money to come back for both of y'all asses." Darius said.
"Right, we knew mama was sick and could die soon and we would be on our own, because dad wasn't gon be around. We was trying dude." Quan said.
"Then you left so all we needed to worry bout was Jamiya. We was damn near close to the amount of money we wanted to make. But now all we gotta do is worry bout ourselves." He said.
"So we was trying mane, we was. We promise. We wouldn't just leave to leave. Not like dat." Darius said.
"I really thought y'all left us to just leave. But while y'all was out making money we was still struggling." I said.
"We know and we sorry." Quan said and I shook my head and wiped my eyes before the tears could fall.
"You crying nigga?" Darius asked.
"Nah bitch, had something in my eye." I said.
"Whatever you say." He said.
"You forgive us tho?" Quan asked and I nodded.
"I can't really be mad at y'all. Y'all was doing the shit for us. It's just to late now." I said and they nodded.
"Well guess what Bro." Darius said.
"We're moving in."He said and my eyes widened and they went outside bringing in bags and shit.
"Nigga, who- how you gon just tell me you moving in?" I asked.
"Like this, Tae we moving in." Quan said going upstairs.
"You don't got no food in this bitch." Darius said.
"Well getcho fat ass out the kitchen and got to the store." I said and he laughed. There was another knock on the door and I smacked my lips.
I opened it seeing Kind. I stared at her. The swelling of her eye went down completely and the bruise was barley visible. She smacked on her gum with her arms folded.
"Are you gonna take a picture or......." She said and I stepped aside letting her in.
"Hey Darius, where Quan?" She asked.
"Hey and he somewhere in this hoe." He said.
"I'm right here, hey Kind." He said coming down the stairs and she smiled at him.
"I need to talk to you." She said and grabbed my hand. She pulled me in a guest room.
"What mane? You pulling me and shit." I said jerking away from her.
"Are we still together?" She asked and I laughed.
"Are we?" I asked and she shrugged.
"I just don't trust you anymore." She said.
"So why would we be together? If you don't trust me I mean there's no point in being together. You need trust." I said.
"I just don't want to prove our parents right. I don't wanna be toxic." She said.
"To late." I said and she rolled her eyes.
"I'm sorry." She said and backed away from me making me laugh.
"I wasn't gon hit you Kind. But stop apologizing, you ain't do shit." I said.
"I'm the one who hit you. The first time it was probably ok, but the second time I just went overboard." I said.
"But I told you I was just angry and hurt, not that that's a good excuse. You know I wouldn't do that tho. And I'm really sorry for doing it. I love you and I ain't mean to hurt you like dat." I said and she smiled.
"It's ok." She said with a smile making me sigh. She always think everything ok.
"No it's not. You just saying that because you wanna move forward. All you wanna do is forget about it like it never happened. But it did and I hurt you." I said.
"Tae, it's ok I'm fine. You beat my ass I beat yours with that bat. We even it's good." She said.
"You sure? I wanna know now cuz I don't want you to be holding that shit in." I said.
"Javontae, I am fine." She said and i nodded then the door opened.
"We were listening to y'all whole little conversation." Darius said.
"Bruh this is how toxic couples are. I could never get back with a bitch that beat me with a bat. A metal bat." Quan said shaking his head.
"Get y'all nosy asses on somewhere." I said.
"Wait Bae I do have something to tell you." She said and Quan's eyes widened before he ran out the house.
I scrunched up my face then looked at her.
"Oh shit." Darius said.
