From two chapters back:

It is 12:22 p.m.

"Darn, we ran out of bacon." Joe whispers.

I don't know if he remembers what happen last night. I don't want to ask, nor remember, nor think about it.

"Okay well, I guess I need to buy groceries. I'm gonna step out for a while." Joe gets his keys and leaves the house.

He didn't even say bye or kiss me. Maybe he remembers hitting my face when I wanted him to stop. Now I have a small purple bruise on my right cheekbone. It compliments my chin, which is almost white again.

I look in the refrigerator; true there is nothing. Only a water gallon, lettuce, and slice cheese.

So I sit down on the couch and turn on the TV.

Five minutes into the episode, my phone rings.

"Hello?"

"Widow!!!"

"Ah! Jess! You hurt my ear dumb-ass."

"Whatever. Guess what!? What's the most amazing great miracle you want to happen?" she asks excitedly.

"I don't know. I'm not good in guessing."

"James."

My heart starts to beat like a freaking pump. My eyes are watery with excitement.

"Please don't lie to me Jessica."

"No, not at all! He is ok." Her voice breaking with happiness and tears.

"Is he awake?" I ask with my voice shaking.

"Yep, he is great. I received a call from his mom, she said his eyes open."

I start to jump around, yes! James is ok!

"Does he remember what happen?"

"I have no idea. Once she told me that I hang up and started to cry like crazy. And remembered to call you. Do you think Jackson knows?"

"He is alright. And I have no idea, maybe his lawyer knows so yeah," I say.

"yeah totally. Look I need to tell the world about this so call you later then?"

"Totally! I need to talk to his mom. Bye Jessica. Thanks!"

"bye!" she hangs up.

I immediately start to dial James phone. Hopefully his mom answers.

"Beep! Hey this is James. Leave your message, name, and I get a hang of you later. Bye."

Hearing his voice makes me happy even though it's only his voice mail.

I check the clock, Joe will be here in two hours.
I decided to change and go to the hospital.

20 minutes later

"Hello how can I help you?" the receptionist asks.

"yes, do you know were James Lock room is?"

She turns to the computer, presses some keys and nods.

"Oh yes, Mr. Lock's son, yes thank god. He is out coma. He is now in room a144."

"Thanks so much." I smile and run to the elevator.

One annoying elevator song later.

"Widow?"

"Sarah!"

"Hello, I don't want to be rude, but why are you here?"

"oh to see James. He is alright now!"

Sarah smiles, "yeah I know. You came to see him?"
