“James?”
“Nope, Mr. Lock to you.”
We turn around and see a man on the door.
“Sarah, I think I found your patient and her buddy," he says.
Wait, did he say Mr. Lock?
I see Sarah rushing in the room, “There you are! Dude come on! You are not making my job easier. I was worried, you know.” she helps me out of the chair.
“Who are you?” I ask the man.
“I am Dr. Lock, a.k.a. James's dad.”
“You're James's dad?” I ask.
“Yes, I am. I will appreciate if you go to your room and rest," he turns his attention to Jackson. "And you boy as a parent, I want you out of here! And as a doctor, you need to get out of here as well. This isn't healthy for any of us.” he looks at Jackson with eyes full of anger.
“Mr. Lock I'm-” Jackson says.
“Be quiet and help Sarah with Widow. I have to check on my patient.” Mr. Lock says.
Jackson nods and helps me.
“Jesus! You gave me a scare, Widow. Dr. Lock is so mad right now and you Jackson boy, don't you ever ever go in that room.” Sarah says. She really sounds worried about me.
“I didn't meant to," I say.
“Heck you didn't even eat,” she says.
We arrive to my room. Joe is sitting on my bed with a bouquet of white roses and a black teddy bear.
“Joe," I say.
“Is this Jackson?” he stands up and walks towards me.
“Yes sir, I'm Jackson Travis. You are?” Jackson asks. Big mistake.
“I am Joe Steward, I am Widow's legal guardian or step- dad whatever you like to call it.” Joe smiles. He grabs my hand and helps me to my bed. He sits next to me. He completely ignores Jackson.
“did Sarah tell you that you coming home today?”
“No, I am?” I turn to Sarah.
“Yes you are, the doctor said with some pain killers and face cream you be done. I was going to tell you this but you weren't in your bed. I was going to company you to see James but I guess you couldn't wait.” Sarah says.
Great she told him everything.
“You did what?”
I look at Joe. He doesn't seem mad but worried.
“Nothing, I'm okay,”
“Well I guess I should go. Bye Widow," Jackson says. He stands in front of me and kisses me on the cheek. Another big mistake.
“Back off!” Joe stands and pushes Jackson away.
“What the?" Jackson says.
“How dare you kiss her? Are you blind? Can you see what you did to her?” Joe asks.
Jackson looks at me. "I don't know.”
“Look please if you are going to fight take it outside. Widow doesn't need more trauma.” Sarah says.
Joe keeps looking at Jackson until he leaves. Sarah leaves as well.
“You okay?” Joe asks me.
“Yeah, you didn't need to do that. I forgave him for what he did to me," I answer.
“You are crazy Widow Johnson! How in the world can you forgive that idiot?”
