A week later/Hermione's POV:

"Sometimes, bad things happen to good people"

The last week flew literally by. It was a typical, boring week without any bigger highlights. In addition, Draco and I haven't been talking with each other since the Astronomy tower. We barely held eye-contact once or twice at any of the meals a day. Not that this wasn't much, he used to ignore me a few years ago, but we are just not so close recently. Anyway, we have Potion's class together which means I might talk to him today.
Ugh, I'm just a little confused by him: a week went by and I still didn't figure out why he wouldn't try to stand up to his parents and tell them about his feelings. Maybe standing up to the own parents is just a muggle-thing, I don't know. I asked Ginny if standing up to the own parents is just a muggle-thing and she assured it wasn't, I even went to the library to look up how pure-blood children behave towards their parents, although I should know it already. Haven't I been often enough at the Burrow to know how pure-blood children behave?

When Ginny and I ambled towards breakfast, Luna crossed our way and gave me a confused look.

"Oh, hello you two. I reckon you haven't heard the news yet: Greengrass has already sent us an invitation to the wedding party of Draco and her. She'd be happy to see you there, she affirmed. Dunno if she really does. Anyway, let's go-to breakfast", she smiled and showed us her shiny teeth.

Then she linked her arms with ours and led us to the hall. We laughed a lot and discussed the newest edition of Witch Weekly.

After we entered the hall, Astoria came in fact to us, smiling like she'd planned something bad already.

"Morning Hermione."

She just behaved like Ginny and Luna weren't with me. Instead of answering her, I acknowledged her with a slight nod.

"Your invitation to the wedding should have been sent to you -it'll probably arrive soon. You are invited cordially to our wedding", she announced.

Draco joined us by Greengrass waving him to her. He took his time to say anything as he joined us and when I wanted to say hello at him, Astoria interrupted me by brushing through his silver-shining hair.

"Draco, honey, I can't believe we are marrying soon!", Astoria chanted.

"Yes, Astoria, can't believe it too." Draco didn't sound as happy as Astoria did, in fact, he concurred her statement with annoyance under his breath. In addition, he was staring directly in my eyes. When our eyes met, I could look directly in his wonderful, grey eyes. I had to smile which made Greengrass mad. Her eyes were staring at me too, unfortunately, her smile didn't seem as happy as Draco's.

Finally, Ginny cleared her throat and blurted: "We'll go to our table now, aren't we?" She gave me a come-with-me look and we went to our table.

"Thank you, Ginny. You saved me from trouble, as always." I was relieved. This conversation could have ended in a bad way which would damage my reputation. It's not like I didn't want to spill a gallon of pumpkin juice on Greengrass's bloody ugly face, can't deny it.

"No problem, I demand only a butterbeer for my service, that's it", she said and took a small sip of her pumpkin juice.

"Are you serious? I bet I already saved you a thousand times and I never demanded anything for my 'services' ", I snapped back.

Ginny was trying to hold back her laughter in order to provide spilling her juice on my clothes. At this time, I already regretted what I've said. And suddenly, an orange-colored juice splashed on my clothes like one big squirt. Disgusting.

"Mione, I'm so sorry. I just couldn't hold back my laughter anymore and-", Ginny coughed and apologized.

"My clothes are ruined! It's disgusting, Ginny!"

"Calm down, I'll cast a cleaning spell." She grabbed her wand and after one moment, my clothes were clean again.

But that wasn't what counted in that moment. My reputation was ruined and unfortunately, Draco has observed me all the time while he was sitting next to Greengrass. I was doomed. Absolutely doomed. Greengrass was laughing at me and was almost choking due to her loud laughter. And Draco? He gave me a little cocky smile but ignored me the second after. Everyone was whispering and pointing their fingers at me. Like I already mentioned, I was totally doomed.
