In the afternoon/ Draco's POV:

"Life is not always easy"

"Hi, Mate. How was your date with Granger?", Blaise asked while we headed into the library. I persuaded him to have look at some muggle books he might like.

"Amazing!", I answered shortly, but proud.

"Did you -did you kiss?"

"Yes, indeed", I bragged. The funny thing is that I never saw Astoria as someone to brag with, not wanting to be objective here, but I wasn't as proud to have kissed Astoria as I was to have kissed Hermione. Of course, I also loved or rather crushed on Astoria, anyway my feelings for her feel like nothing in comparison with mine for Hermione.

"Oi, Draco Malfoy's a player. Two girls at the same time!", he joked as we walked by several bookshelves, all filled with a huge amount of books.

Although his voice raised only a little bit, Madam Pince was already giving us strange looks from her desk, so I shushed him directly.

"Ugh, Blaise. Don't say that. You know how much I'd like to break up with Astoria to be official with Hermione instead. And you know exactly that I'm not playing any of them, I'm a gentleman -with or without reputation. Especially now when the Malfoy's aren't in good reputation, I beg you to don't spread fake news", I whispered annoyed.

"I was just kidding, indeed I would never do anything to destroy a friend's reputation. Draco, don't take everything so serious, I know you are going through a bloody bad phase, but don't let your anger out on me", he apologized.

"Sorry, mate. I don't know what's wrong with me, but I feel even angrier about my family's prejudices since Hermione and I are really having a thing", I replied and browsed through the muggle books Hogwarts provided in one bookshelf.

He wasn't the one that had to apologize, it was me. I was in a bad mood lately. Mother was persuaded that I mustn't love a muggle-born that's amazing and lovable and perfect but must marry a pureblood. Anyway, how was I supposed to stand up against her? She and father would be disappointed in me, probably the whole family would. I'd be the biggest disgrace my family would have ever faced, which is, even though I'm trying to persuade myself from the opposite, my one of my biggest fears.

"Why wouldn't you just break up with Astoria? It would be best for us all!", he suggested whispering.

"Because I can't. And you know why."

As a reaction, he just stood up and walked his way out of the library with an expression of disbelief in his face.

Although I called his name once or twice, the only response I got was a 'psht' from Madam Pince, who had thought that. The Zabinis never understood the extreme attitude of my parents. No doubt, his parents had some prejudices as well. On the other hand, he was even allowed to go to the Yule Ball with the girl he wanted to. But he chose to go alone, in order to be able to dance with any girl he wanted to.

Seriously, if there's one thing I could change at Blaise, it would be his attitude on girls. Unfortunately, I was forbidden to ask Hermione out under all circumstances. When I first wrote to my parents about the Yule Ball, they responded immediately with 'Go with a pureblood. You have to keep up our reputation'. What a pity, I'd loved to go to the Yule Ball with Hermione.

Anyway, I found the book I was looking for in the bookshelf next to me, Moby Dick, and sat down to one of the wooden desks.

"Malfoy! I was looking for you all day, where have you been?", Ginny asked from the bookshelf behind me.

In fact, I was really avoiding her because I didn't want to answer all the questions she had about the date. As a response, I acknowledged her presence with a slight nod.

"I know you were avoiding me, Draco. Wait, are you reading?", she walked to me and grabbed my book out of my hands. "You aren't reading Moby Dick, are you?"

"Yes, I am. Muggle books are quite interesting, give them a try", I shrugged. In my opinion, it was better to keep the real reason a secret: I wanted to know more about muggles because of Hermione. She changed me and my point of view on muggles completely. Beforehand, mother and father only taught me bad stuff about muggles, but when I started attending Hogwarts, it was in fact Hermione that proved all the stuff wrong. She is amazing, talented, has courage, and wouldn't inform other muggles about us wizards and witches.

"Hm, Moby Dick is quite cool, no doubts about that. Anyway, you should read Diary of A Wimby Kid! That's the stuff I like to read!", she replied. Though her sound level was way nearer to screaming than Blaises, Madam Pince seemed to only shake her hear about the redhead. Lucky Ginny.

"Yeah, but that's why you had to interrupt my reading session?", I wondered with a slightly confused undertone.

"Actually, I wanted to ask you out about the date between you and Hermione. She doesn't want to tell me about your date neither, so you'll tell me everything."

There was no way to avoid this conversation, unfortunately, so I told her about the date and my feels.

"Aww, that's cute. I knew about what happened, just wanted to know about your feels", she shrugged and moved her chair, she had sat down before I told her about everything, a bit.

"Did you just fool me? Weaslette -er Ginny, you are a total Slytherin!", I stated in disbelief.

"Uhm, yes. However, I might add that Hermione is totally in love with you. So don't break her heart. Promise?"

"Never on purpose", I ensured her because I'd never have the aim to break her heart.

But how could I be good enough for her anyway? I'm just a ferret that might look good, but do I have other qualities to offer? I don't think so. In addition, I have to marry someone else instead of her.

"I know you'll have to marry Astoria in the end, though you don't even love her like Hermione", Ginny raised her red eyebrow.

"And you know why: I'll never be good enough for Hermione and my parents forbid me to marry her anyway."

"You'll have to fight for her", she advised me and pod my shoulder solidly.
