rogers pov:

i peered out my window as a car pulled up to the drive for the house next door that had been empty for far too long. i was finally getting a new neighbour and prayed that it would be someone my age, i was always so bored at home.

my excitement raised as i saw a tall boy with curly hair get out of the car. he looked around and i ducked down when his eyes looked to my house.

slowly, i peaked back up to see who else was in the car, it only seemed to be him and his parents though. i saw my own parents go out and greet the new neighbours, maybe i would be brave enough later to go see them myself.

they began to unpack all their belongings and move them into their new home.

it was nearing 6pm and the new neighbours had finished putting all the boxes and furniture inside. i looked out his window again and saw the talk boy playing basket ball by himself in their front yard. he looked bored. just like me then. i decided to go out and talk to him.

the summer evening sun hit my face as i walked outside and over to the boy.

"hi." i smiled getting the his attention.

"hey." he said picking up the basket ball.

"i'm roger, i live just there." i introduced myself pointing over to my house.

"oh cool, i'm brian." he grinned.

"how old are you?" i asked.

"i'm 17, you?" brian answered bouncing the ball up and down.

"17." i smiled, "do you want me to show you around? if it's alright with your parents."

"sure, i'll just go let them know- wait there." and with that he was off into his house.

it didn't take long for him to come running back out, "let's go." he smiled.

"come on, we can take my car, there's lots to see." i winked leading him over to my convertible.

we got in and i started to drive.

"so where are you from?" i asked my eyes on the road.

"hampton."

"oh so quite far then."

"only 4 hours in a car with nothing to do." he laughed.

"so why did you move here?"

"well it's beautiful, but my mums family all live hear and she wanted to be close to them- not that i mind. it's very nice here." he smiled looking out to the seafront as we drove, his hair flapping in the wind.

i turned on the radio and to my surprise brian knew the song that was playing just as well as i did. we sang along together, it was nice- i could tell we were going to be friends.

i pulled up to a parking lot right next to the beach.
we walked for a big exchanging stories and our hands occasionally brushing up against each other causing me to blush.
i got us icecream and we sat up on the wall looking out to the sea.
the sun was still warm and the breeze was light.

i don't think i've ever felt this chemistry so immediately with someone before, we've laughed so much but been together for less than 3 hours.

"come, i want to show you something." i smiled standing up and reaching out my hand for him to grab.

he didn't let go though as we walked, i blushed at this but didn't mind at all. i lead him up to a spot high up on the cliffs, it was my special place.
i laughed as he struggled up the hill but the destination was worth it.
i came here all the time.

the water was stunningly blue and stretched out as far as the eye could see. the top of the cliff was littered with tall flowers that complemented the sea salt air.
i watched as brian looked out into the horizon, the wind blowing through his curls.
the setting sun shone golden rays onto his face making him almost.. glow.

"it's beautiful." he sighed.

"i know." i smiled looking at him. "i love it."

he turned and looked at me, his eyes had a certain sparkle i had not noticed before. he learnt down and kissed me. i was a little surprised at his boldness but kissed back strongly.

"getting straight to it huh?" i laughed cocking up an eyebrow.

"how could i resist?" he mock bit his lip.

"i have an idea." i said taking his hand and pulling him back down the hill and to my car.
we got in and i drove up the same hill we had just come down and parked. i got out and grabbed a blanket from the boot and climbed into the backseat encouraging brian to do the same.
he climbed in next to me and i wrapped the blanket around both of us and moved in closer to brian as we looked out to the view ahead of us.

"i was meant to meet you." he said.

"we were meant to meet each other. i've never moved this fast with anyone." i giggled.

"mm i do have that effect on people." he joked wrapping his arms around me.

i hummed and leaned my head on his shoulder. i felt myself getting tired at only 8, but the sea air will do that to you.

"oh my god." brian said looking at me.

"what?"

"i don't even know your last name!" he laughed making me laugh with him.

"i don't know yours!" i giggled.

"it's May. like the month."

"well mines Taylor, like the job."

i felt so immensely happy, giddy, it was great. he made me feel great.
"you can meet my friends tomorrow, if you'd like." i said.

"i'd love to." he smiled.

"your ever so pretty." i reached home to his face and kissed him again.

"so are you."

we stayed for a bit longer until it started to get dark and brian said his parents would begin to worry.
we drove back with the hood up, brian's hand rested on top of mine clutching the gear stick.

i pulled into my drive and pecked brian on the lips quickly before getting out. i waved him goodbye and we went into our own houses.
i rushed up to my bedroom and looked out of it to see brian across from me in his room doing the same.

i let out laugh and picked up a pen and paper scribbling my number down and holding it up, he smiled and wrote it down before closing his blinds. shortly after i heard the phone ring.
i picked it up knowing exactly who it would be.

"hello."

"hi taylor."
