"And of course I broke into the Oval office...and took a picture of myself at the window, looking all JFK." Kai says as he sits across from Damon. "But then I was like, wait, how am I gonna get these photos developed?"
"Oh, my God. Just answer the damn question." Damon says. "How are we gonna get out of this twilight zone?"
"I got a question for you first. Why do you think we're stuck on a repeating loop of May 10, 1994.... Doomed to relive a solar eclipse forever and ever and ever?"
"How the hell should I know?" Damon takes a drink of his bourbon.
"I heard you tell Bonnie this was your own personal hell. Im kind of curious why."
"I found everything you asked for." Bonnie says as she walked into the room. "Can opener, shower drain, grinding wheel, jam...pocket knife, volume O of the encyclopedia..." She sets the backpack down on the coffee table."... A nail and a black marker. Now what?" She emptied everything on the table.
"Can't show you with my hands taped." Bonnie picks up the pocket knife
"Bonnie...." Damon says
"Thank you." Kai says as Bonnie cut the tape and released his hands.
"Okay, fine." Damon says.
"Ah." Kai says.
"How's this pile of crap gonna get us out?"
"I'll explain as soon as you tell me what you did on May 10th, 1994."
"What difference does it make?"
"Put it this way: Bonnie's magic is one part of the equation. My as-yet undisclosed knowledge is the other. Which means you would be hitching a ride home for free. I just want to know if you deserve to come along." Damon walks over to Bonnie grabs the knife then walks over to Kai and grabs him
"Or I could just torture you until you say something useful."
"If you torture me, I'll get mad and then I won't want to help you. What kind of person needs to have that explained it to them?" Bonnie gets the knife from Damon. Damon let's Kai go
"Play nice." Bonnie says
" stop trying to impress the new guy."
" why don't you just tell him your story?"
" maybe because I don't want to talk about the worst thing I ever did Bonnie."
"Ohhh. Now I'm listening." Kai sits down and opens the jam and puts his fingers into it. He then scoop some out and puts it in his mouth.
Flashback 1994
Damon knocks at the door to the Salvatore boarding house. Stefan answers the door and Damon turns and looks at him
"Ready for some bad news?" Damon says as he holds up the newspaper. he tries to walk in but he cant." Barely seen you in 50 year's, Stefan. Not gonna invite a brother in?"
"Give me one good reason why."
"Check your answering machine. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf."
"I heard your message. I also heard you sent Lexi see some flowers. 17 years after you left her to burn to death on a rooftop."
"Well--"
"A little late... But I see you're trying to make amends. I just want to know why."
"Uh,we'll, I can tell you this, Stefan, I'm tired of tearing up New York City. Matured Maybe it's the partying, my conscience."
