Niall's POV

Why was I so stupid?

I shouldn't have asked Skylar about summer '09, especially since I was the one who was in the wrong by not letting her explain, and then promptly ignoring her the rest of the year.

I am the most messed-up case ever.

It's been almost a month since that happened, and Skylar hasn't come back.

But Ashlyn has, and she's usually found draped over Liam. She got over Louis pretty fast.

Louis was fine with it because he still had Eleanor.

Although I'm quite sure he still likes Ashlyn. I hope Eleanor doesn't find out.

The boys and I leave for tour on Monday, and right now it's Friday, and I'm standing on Ashlyn and Skylar's doorstep wanting to invite them with us.

Ashlyn I'm sure will say yes.

It's Skylar that I'll have more trouble convincing.

I rang the doorbell.

"Hello?" Skylar's brown hair, dyed blonde (we both did it when we were eleven) poked out the door. She saw me and flushed. "What do you want?"

"Uh, to talk to you and Ashlyn," I said, feeling uncomfortable.

"Look, if this is about summer '09, I'm sorry for running out, I just couldn't think about it without starting to cry," she said, biting her lip.

"It's not," I said. "It's something else."

"Come on in then," she said warily, stepping aside and opening the door wider for me to come in.

"Sky, who's there?" Ashlyn asked, bounding down the stairs. Her eyes fell on me. "Hey Leppy."

"Not you too," I groaned. I really hated that name.

But seeing Skylar smile for the first time since I'd last seen her (a month ago) made it all worth it.

"What's up?" Ashlyn asked me.

"Uh, the boys and I are leaving on tour on Monday," I said quietly.

"So?" Skylar asked, her eyebrow arched. Her left one.

At least I think it was her left one.

"Well, uh, we wanted to know if you'd like to come with us," I mumbled.

"No!" Skylar snapped, as Ashlyn squealed, "YES!"

How can these two be friends, again? They're so different.

I guess opposites attract, although similarities do the same as well.

"Please?" I begged.

Skylar shook her head. "No. I refuse to."

"Please, I'll do anything," I begged again.

"No one wants me there," she scoffed.

"Sky, c'mon," Ashlyn coaxed.

Her scowl softened, except then she said, "What about our parents? What about school?"

"Where are you touring?" Ashlyn asked.

"It's worldwide," I replied.

"What would we be doing?" Skylar asked.

"Just hanging out with us," I said. "If you want you can come onto stage and open for us."

"Oh that seals the deal!" she said, smiling at me.

"Actually?" I asked.

"No." she glared at me. "That's the absolute last thing I want to do."
