Chapter 13

"I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!" Drew shouted in my ear.

"Ouch, Drew," I said, holding my head. "I mean, congratulations, but please, refrain from bursting my eardrums?"

"Sorry," he said.

Keaton ran into the room and picked me up and swung me around.

"KEATON!" I shrieked.

"Sorry, I'm so happy we made it to next week!" he shouted in my ear.

"Not you too," I groaned.

Keaton kissed my cheek. "You're adorable too."

"Thanks," I said, blushing. "Anyways, congratulations!"

"Thanks," Wes said, knocking Keaton aside and hugging me.

Keaton stomped off to hug Ashlyn.

"You guys were amazing yesterday, there was no reason you shouldn't have not made it," Ashlyn said, hugging Keaton back.

"I know, but still," Wes said. 

"You guys were amazing," I said, smiling. "Congratulations."

"You're going far in this competiton, I know it," Ashlyn predicted.

Drew kissed her.

"Sparks flying!" Wes, Keaton, and I all shrieked.

When they pulled apart, I smiled at Ashlyn. "Ash, can we talk?"

"Sure," she said.

I grabbed her and pulled her into a vacant room. "Are you nuts?" I hissed. "You're dating Liam!"

"LiLi never asked me to be his girlfriend," Ashlyn said.

"That's true," I sighed. "So who will it be, because we see 1D in three days."

"Depends on who asks me first," Ashlyn said.

"Good luck with that," I said. 

Fast-Forward 1 Week Later...

"I can't believe they're coming," Ashlyn said, gripping my arm.

"They'll be here tomorrow," I chided her. "Right now we have to make sure Emblem3 stays in the competition."

Ashlyn nodded and gripped my arm even harder as we glued our eyes to the TV screen.

"This is it," Mario Lopez said. "The act with lowest viewers' votes is..."

I bit my lip and prayed, Not Emblem or Carly. Not Emblem or Carly.

"Paige Thomas."

Ashlyn and I gasped. "No freaking way!"

But despite being eliminated, Paige held her head high and smiled at the audience.

"I can't believe it," I said hoarsely. "I thought CeCe was gone."

"No, I thought it'd be Vino," Ashlyn replied. "The guy's a great singer, but I agreed with the judges' last night when they said it wasn't his best performance."

Cut to commercial.

"At least they're still in," Ashlyn said in relief.

"Remember," I sighed. "It's double elimination night. There's a sing-off tonight."

"Right," Ashlyn said. "No act is safe until the sing-off is over."

When the show came back, it was Alicia Keys singing Girl on Fire.
