Several years later...
Adrian climbed out from his car and approached me who was waiting for him under the tree in the yard. He rested his hands on both of my shoulders and moved my body back and forth slowly.
"Hi love!" he whined, beaming.
"Hi too love!" I gentle tapped the tip of his nose while smiling with nose crinkle. We both laughed before carefully arranged our steps toward the house. Adrian wrapped his left arm around my waist, brought me close to him.
"I can't believe we are celebrating our 7th anniversary today," he heaved a sigh of joy.
Since he was a bit taller than me, I looked up at him to witness the happiness portrayed on his face. I nodded and leaned closer to him to feel the warmness coming from his body.
"I love you," I said, never felt tired of saying that to him.
"I love you more," he landed a gentle kiss on my forehead. We arrived at the front door as I slowly turned the knob revealing the parlor where mom and papa were seated on the couch watching the America Got Talent tv show.
"Hi Adrian," papa put on a friendly smile and greeted Adrian followed by mom.
"Hi Mrs and Mr Alan," Adrian approached them, politely offered his hand to them both. Instead of accepting the handshake that Adrian have offered, papa stood up and pulled Adrian into the manly kind of hug.
"Oh c'mon Adrian. Let's keep aside the formalities from now on. Just call me uncle."
"And aunt," mom interrupted.
Adrian cheek turned slightly pink as he nodded. "Well, if uncle and aunt says so," he agreed on the new term created by papa before we all headed to the dining room.
Dinner was masterpiece. Chicken basted in rosemary, baked potatoes sliced through the middle and tucked with cheese cream, wild rice with minced green peppers and hot spices, mixed veggies soup, two bottles of expensive red wine and yam cake for the dessert. Mom and I took the whole evening to prepare those varieties of menu after Adrian called and informed me that he wanted to come after his last visit few months ago. Frankly said, mom and papa were more excited than me when they heard that Adrian was visiting.
After dinner was over, we stay at the dining room and sipping the wine from our wine goblets.
"How's work?" mom asked Adrian.
"So far so good. But lately I'm spending a lot of time in the lab and it is hard for me since I don't have much time to spend with other people," he sighed heavily.
"Are you guys working with any specific cases right now?" dad asked, sipping his wine.
Adrian nodded. He started to work in the main chemical investigation center after we graduated from the Green Lay University since last two years while for me, I have already started to work at Lavionile High in Physics Department and replaced Sir Jack to handle the Music and Art Club but now not as a leader, but as the main adviser. Sir Jack was very happy to give me the position when he decided to transfer school.
The conversation went smoothly when suddenly Adrian held his wine goblets high and clinked it gently with a spoon. All eyes and ears landed on him as he grinned ear to ear.
"I actually come here today because I have something important to tell this happy Alan family," he paused and looked at me mischievously.
"What?" I mumbled.
"I, Adrian Jeckel have an announcement to make and also a question to ask," his eyes was still locked on me who became even more puzzled than before.
