"Our client from Exile Co wanted to discuss about the new project with Miss Elisha, personally," Liam gave me a short report about his meeting with Isaac.
Everyone's eyes was on me. I shifted my eyes from one to another and everyone was clearly waiting for me to say something.
"And why do I need to do that?" my question made everyone knitted their brows in curiosity.
"Because it's a business matter," Liam who sat beside me said, narrowing his eyes.
"Oh," I cleared my throat awkwardly.
"Elisha, we better end our meeting for today, right now," Liam whispered only for me and him to hear, concernly gave me advice, as if he realised something had been bothering me. He knew me more than others, how I priorities professionalism in workplace but I acted like someone who broke my own principles.
I faintly nodded before whirling, facing the boards of directors.
"Let's sum up everything that we have discussed," my eyes searched for Lisa David, the Design Director. "Mrs David?"
"I've asked the team leader from design department to spread the news about the competition, and so far I received a good feedbacks, almost everyone in my department have signed up to join it," she said politely.
"Good. Make sure you choose the best design because we'd going to have a very special guest coming to our annual award ceremony, Princess Eleanoria," I announced. All faces flickered with excitement as soon as they heard my announcement.
"The Princess of Cordonia?" I heard someone asked.
"Yes."
I heard some of them gasped while the other talked to one another with low voices with obvious excitement.
"I'm excited to meet her in person, she's adorable. I bet her mom and dad will attend the ceremony too."
"I hope so. And the other nobles, Anna Lee, Olivia Narvis, Maxwell Beautmon and Drake. Oh my God, I'm so excited."
"The princess who betrothed to the Aurvenal's prince?"
"I heard they broke the betrothal already. They caught the Aurvenal lying about their heir, the prince is not Queen Isabella's true bloodline."
"Seriously? The audacity, I'm impressed. In that case, it's better for Cordonia to call off the engagement."
I let them whispered and gossiping but the word engagement disturbed me so much since it only reminded me of Adrian.
I clear my throat again and the meeting hall became quiet in just a blink of eyes. All attentions drew back to me.
"Mrs David, make sure to reward the winner with the best prizes so that they will become more competitive in this competition." Lisa David nodded obediently.
I whirled my head to the side, looking at Liam, who sat beside me. "How's our Finance Department doing?"
"From our recent meeting, I have a good news to share with everyone," as the Finance Director, he began to present his latest report about our financial being. "Our clearance sales success for last month was beyond expectation, not only we gained a huge number of profits but we also have more than enough money to cover for all of our last month's loss with the money from the sales," he smiled proudly.
I smiled, heaved a sigh of relief.
"Keep up with all of the good jobs you guys have been doing. I'm so proud with all of you," I genuinely praised everyone and they began to applause. "For that I'd would like to announce that everyone in Fleur Choices will receive extra bonus for this month. Let's wrap up our meeting for today and I'll see you all again next Friday," I announced. They cheered and started to part to their own departments, began to fulfill their duties.
