CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

Getting calls in the middle of the night were never pleasant - especially when they were from your so called 'stalker'.

"Hello?"I said into my iphone groggily. The alarm clock beside my bed said it was 03:33 so a phone call at this hour wasn't expected.

"Darling," was all the voice said and it was all it needed to say before I knew who it was.

"What do you want?" I asked, the fear I was feeling came out in my voice and I cursed myself for being so weak.

"I was just calling to check up on you. I must say babe, those pyjamas you're wearing tonight sure are cute," the smirk in their voice was evident and it sent chills down my spine. They could see me and my fluffy giraffe pjs.

"What the fuck do you want?" I said through clenched teeth. I was scared but more than anything I was angry - angry because they were trying to frighten me.

"You; preferably dead but I guess I would settle for long term coma," the honesty in their voice was unnerving. I wanted to believe they were bluffing but I was beginning to doubt myself.

"If you want me dead so bad, why don't you just kill me? Why not just kill me now?" I asked as I began to sit up in my bed and reached for the bedside light.

"Are you going to turn on that bright bed-side lamp you have?" they asked completely ignoring my question, "because I wouldn't if I was you."

I stopped in my tracks. Terror coursed through my entire being. Were they in my room?

"Are - are you here?" I asked as the fear I was feeling caused me to stutter.

"Don't be so silly darling, if I was there with you right now - you would know," they replied before laughing. Their laugh felt familiar. It was deep and husky.

"Then why shouldn't I turn my light on," I asked again before I looked from side to side to see if I could make anything out.

"I'm not going to tell you what to do Khloe, it was merely a suggestion. If you want to turn the light on - do it."

Against my better judgement, I reached for the light and turned it on. I held the phone to my ear and looked around in horror.

'I finally found something that is a bigger bitch than you;

Karma.'

It was scrawled across my large built in wardrobe doors in what looked like blood. It was probably paint but the way it was done sent shivers up my spine.

Not only, but my room had been covered in pictures. Pictures of me at different times in the last year. I wasn't looking at the camera in any of them. It was proof that they had been stalking me for longer than I had thought.

The only thing that stirred me from the shock as I took in my bedroom was the sound of chuckling coming from the phone that was still placed against my ear.

"The sentence is quite witty isn't it? Some of my best work so far, don't you think?" his voice made my blood run cold. I was terrified.

"How did you get into my room?" I questioned as I looked for proof of forced entry around the windows.

"Now that would be telling," he joked.

"Stop fucking with me! I can't do this anymore - I don't deserve this!" tears started to stream down my face. I was an emotional wreck from the fear.
