<><><>She said hello. She smiled. She acknowledged him. She was happy to see him. She was his mate and he couldn't have been happier. Not just because she greeted him, but because she was her.
Jimin figured out early on that he was crushing on Y/n in a very real way; a way that was separate from the bond destiny had formed between them. There was his mate, Y/n, who he loved instantly and felt his soul connect to. Then there was Y/n, that small girl who worked in his cousin's convenient store. Kind and mysterious, shy but straight forward in her words when she chose to speak. She fascinated him. He wanted to find out every single thing about her. From her future dreams to her shoe size, he wanted it all.
Besides, how could he not crush on her? She was adorable.
The moment he stepped (or ran) into the restaurant, the sweet and salty scent he attributed to her swept over him and the last week, as hard as it had been, became a thing of distant past. All of his worries and heartache disappeared. The insistent tugging on his heart to be near his mate, the nagging worry that was always around when she was away, even the dull ache in his injured arm eased off.
Finally he could rest easy and enjoy life again. She was good and healthy and alive, as his wolf had assured she would be. There was no sign of tingling ears but there was a hint of rosemary in the air at the red flush that covered her face and neck after greeting him.
There were other people at the table. Namjoon, Kitty, and a third person he realized was there but didn't stop to look at. Really, he didn't stop to look at any of them, choosing instead to squeeze past Namjoon and sit across from Y/n.
Elbows on the table, he went ahead and placed his face in both palms, watching her with loving, heart filled eyes that seemed to flow from him and slap her in the face, if the increasing flush on it was anything to go by. After a quick glance his way she lowered her gaze to her lap and shifted a bit as she rubbed her palms together.
"Hi." he said again, this time a blush of his own warming his cheeks. "I missed you."
Next to him Namjoon awkwardly cleared his throat. Though Jimin never took his eyes off of the woman in front of him, he managed to pick up Kitty's voice whispering to his hyung. "They're so cute it's killing me! Let's adopt them."
And Namjoon's incredulous voice answering, "you realize they aren't cats, right?"
The woman next to Y/n leaned sideways in her direction after nudging her with an elbow. He took a second to evaluate her person, taking in the dyed hair, the leather jacket and the odd scent of disinfectant. Apart from that there was something off about how she smelled. For a moment he thought on it, trying to piece together why it didn't seem right or why it was strangely familiar, as if it was something he had smelled long ago and should remember. For whatever reason it made him feel sad. But he still couldn't manage to pick a particular memory out from the rest to allude to.
"Yo, Velma," she muttered out of the corner of her mouth. "That yer stalker?"
At Y/n's nod to her question, he startled a bit. She thought he was a stalker?
