Date: January 14th
Time: 12:07am
Location: Jimin's bedroom
Mood: Wide awake but trying for sleep
<><><>A light snowfall began later that night. Wolfy turned off the lights and opened the shades so that they could watch it come down as they fell asleep. It reminded him of their first kiss, was what he whispered through the dark and in response she hid her face under the covers.
Relief, but some degree of guilt encased her when he had set up a space for himself to lay on the floor next to where she lay on the bed. She didn't mind sleeping on the floor and voiced that, but he had told her to 'stop being silly' and practically shoved her on the bed.
Now there wasn't a sound in the house that she could hear. At least twenty minutes had passed in silence as she stared out of the window, trying to allow the white flurries outside to ease her into dreamland, to no avail.
Her mind wandered and she contemplated on when she should tell Jimin about how she had found her long, lost parent. It wasn't like she was keeping it from him with the intention of being sneaky, but not telling him about it felt wrong. At the same time, she didn't want to tell him. She didn't want to tell anyone. Saying it out loud made it more tangible. It was reminder of a pain she was trying to forget.
From now on, don't run from your pain but meet it head on and fight through it. That was the advice from the therapist. Y/n took that to mean that she was supposed to accept a father leaving his family and starting a new one. That thought took her in another direction. Telling Jimin about it was one thing, but someone who deserved to know who she had found was Seo-Joon and her mom. He hurt them too. It was their right to know. But she didn't want to do that, either. That knowledge would hurt her family, people she loved.
With a frustrated sigh she turned on her side and tried to get more comfortable. Jimin's sheets smelled clean, like fabric softener.
"Wolfy?" She uttered as quietly as she could. Her voice was just below a whisper and barely able to be heard.
Wolfy heard it fine. "Yes, mate?" His head popped into view as he sat up excitedly. "What is it?"
"I was going to ask if you were awake..."
"Of course I am! I can't sleep with you right here, I'm too happy. What do you need? Are you cold? Or hungry?"
"No. I just missed you."
"But...I'm right here." He pointed out, confused. "I never left the room."
"I meant that I missed your voice." When she reached a hand out he met her halfway to interlock their fingers. "I'm not sleepy."
With his other arm he used it as a pillow to lean on as he stared. Not that she could properly make him out to see that. "Then I'm not either. What should we talk about?"
"Mmm...I don't know. What do you want to talk about? Is there anything that Jimin and I haven't talked about yet?" There was a lot they had said to one another, but still much more room left uncovered. Silence filled the room for a minute until Wolfy spoke in a small, hesitant voice.
"Have you ever...no. Never mind. I don't want to think about it."
"Huh? What is it?"
A puff of air was released in an irritated huff. "Mate...you didn't date other people, right? It's just me...right?"
Relief helped her muscles to relax. Was that all? Even after all this time she was somehow still waiting for Jimin to break up with her out of the blue, so whenever he would hesitate on speaking or act like he didn't want to tell her something, it would give her anxiety. Hopefully one day she could outgrow that.
