I nervously flitted across the lab, going back and fourth from Eric Selvig and whatever information, readings, tools, or snacks he needed. Personally, I liked Eric, he was a reasonable boss, but I really wanted to get out of this shady undercover business. I had enough trouble living with my "condition" as I liked to call it, but I wanted to be as normal as possible. At this moment though, I highly doubted that I would be normal anytime soon.
"Sophie? We need you to come down to the lab right now. This is an emergency." I heard Fury say into my Earpiece.
"I'll be down in a minute." I said, instantly starting to jog down the rest of the steps to the lab. I had been at the lab for five hours working on the tesseract. It had started to act up and as Eric's assistant, I was forced to be there to help attempt to keep it under control. I had left for five minuets to get some coffee and now there was a crisis. how did they ever get anything done when I wasn't here, I didn't know.
I stepped into the lab and I immediately dived under a desk. A man that that had slicked back raven colored hair and was wearing a green and gold outfit that was not of this world was in the lab, surrounded by the bodies of dead agents. He was tapping Eric with a long spear that had a glowing globe on it. Eric's eyes turned the same blue that the tesseract was colored. Director Fury was on the ground but was awake. he looked over at me and put one finger to his lips, telling me to be silent. I turned back to the scene going on in front of me. I saw agent Barton and saw him looking at me. He had the same eyes as Eric. I took that as a sign that he was now playing for the other side, whoevers side that was. He stepped towards me and grabbed my collar, hauling me to my feet and forced me to start following Eric and the strange man.
Once we had gotten into a car and started to leave the compound Greeny ( as I had named him. ) finally noticed me. He smirked and looked towards Barton. "Who is this mortal?"
"She is the assistant of him." He said, pointing towards Eric.
"And why is it here?" Greeny asked, annoying me in the process. I hated when people talked about me as if I wasn't there.
"My name is Sophie, not it, and I can speak for myself," I said, startling Greeny and Barton, "And knowing Barton, he grabbed me because his now controlled mind probably thought that I would be useful in some way." Greeny glared at me and pointed his spear thing at my chest.
"You will not speak to me in such a way mortal!" he said, "I will rule over you, and you will comply." He put the tip of his spear right in the middle of my chest. A cold started t go through my chest, attempting to spread through my body. It was instantly fought by the heat that was always present in my body, and soon was gone. Greeny looked started and tried it again,. It had the same result. He leaned in to took at me closer and studied my face. When he noticed my eyes he stared into them for a minuet and suddenly got a smirk on his face.
"We are taking her with us. knock her out." He looked down at me again and stared into my eyes until Barton hit me with his gun barrel and I was swept into darkness. So, I originally published this on Quotev, and have come here! The first few chapters are not very good, but I've been told that as it goes on it gets much better, so I am posting the first few chapters all at once!
