Chapter Twenty Three - First Mission

Three months later. Six months after New York attack.

        After agreeing to become an Agent, Fury decided to make me regret it by putting me through one on one training with the best people, testing my physical and mental capability's. He came to her first few sessions with Nat and Clint, and she shocked him into the next week with her near perfect marksmanship with a bow and guns, but wasn't as surprised when he learned that her favorite weapons were throwing knives.

        I came back to the tower every night, tired beyond belief, but got up the next morning to go right back at it. After a month of training at the base, I mostly ended up training at the tower with Nat, Clint, and Steve. I would occasionally have to go to Tony for a technology lesson, but most of my lessons were with Nat, showing me the perks of being a female agent. Being underestimated apparently is a great advantage, because of surprise when you take them down. She also claims that we can get more successful missions than guys because we can use our... assets. Steve left the room when she brought up that topic, causing me and Nat to end up in a fit of giggles over how red his face had become.

        Currently, Clint and I were navigating our way to Fury's office. He had called the Tower asking for the two of us, so here we were. We walk into his office, and he throws a file down on the desk in front of us. "Sophie, you have your first mission." he says, and I pick the file up and open it. "Drug lord, Name; Ken Daves." Fury said, and I look at the photo. He's got black hair and a small beard. Medium height.

        "What do you want me to do?" I ask. Fury sighs, as if he doesn't want to be the one delivering the news.

        "He has recently been frequenting a bar in the city. We want you to.... convince him to show you where his stash is, so we can bring him in. His operation has grown too much, and we think that he might be getting into some dangerous operations." Fury says.

        "Wait a second. Do you want me to... Seduce him?!" I ask, praying that Fury denies it.

        "It doesn't have to go that far... but yes. Basically." He says. I sigh, and pinch the bridge of my nose between two fingers and shut my eyes.

        "Fury, I've never even had a boyfriend. How do you expect me to seduce someone?" I ask. Next to me, Clint's face is red from trying not to laugh.

        "Romanoff will cover the basics and show you what to do, wear, and how to act." Fury says. "And Barton will be there with you in the bar to watch your back and to help with a getaway if anything goes wrong." Clint is still trying not to laugh, but straightens up when he hears his name. "I want you in this bar by tomorrow. Dismissed."

        Clint and I leave and start to walk back towards the tower. He seems to have his emotions under control, but every time he looks at me he gives a little chuckle, shakes his head, and goes back to walking. We get to the tower and make our way up to the main floor, where, for some odd reason, everyone is at.

        "So I got my first mission from Fury." I say, and apparently, that is enough to tip Clint over the edge. He hits the floor, clutching his sides from laughing so hard, and the entire room looks at him like he has gone insane. I roll my eyes.

        "Clint... Are you okay...?" Nat asks hesitantly.

        "Her *Laugh* First *Laugh* Mission." Is all he manages to get out before laughing again. Nat looks in the file, and after a few moments, understanding dawns in her face. She lets out a snort of laughter before covering her hand with her mouth. She looks up and sees me glaring at her and loses it right along side with Clint.

        "Care to explain?" Tony asks.

        "I will when the two hyenas over here shut up." I grumble, sitting on the couch and folding my arms across my chest. It takes them a while, but Nat and Clint finally gain control and help me explain the situation to Tony, Bruce, and Pepper. Tony acts like his normal self and makes a few remarks which cause Pepper to hit him in the back of the head, Pepper asks to help in any way she can, and Bruce just excuses himself to the lab after wishing me luck. Nat glares at Tony and Clint until they leave, making me, Pepper, and Nat alone.
