I raced down the street in full flame mode, only slowing down to shoot fire at random Chitari. Stark tower wasn't far away, but it was taking a while to get there because of rubble and overturned cars. I was almost there when I heard a few small yells for help. I turned around and saw several small children in a huddle, surrounded by Chitari. "Hey! Over here!" I yelled at them. They looked over, and about half the group started to come at me, guns raised. I took them out quickly, burning them where they stood. The remainder of the group that were surrounding the children opened fire. I ducked behind an abandoned mini-van, and got two small knives out from hidden pockets on my suit. I let the flames reach out and surround the knives. I jumped out from behind the van and threw one of the knives at the main shooter. It sunk into it's head, instantly killing it. I ran forward, dodging shots and stuck the other knife into another Chitari and lit up the two that were standing over the children. There were no other Chitari around, so I let he flames around my body go out, leaving only my hair lit again. "Let's get you out of here." I said to the kids. They didn't move. They looked terrified of me. "It's ok. I'm a good guy."
"Like Captain America?" The oldest kid of the group asked.
"Just like Captain America." I said with a smile. "What's your name?" I asked.
        "Thomas."
"Ok Thomas. We need to get all of you to your parents. Where do you live?" He pointed to the building across the street. "Lets get back home then." I say. He nods. "I want all of you to hold hands, and we are going to cross the street." I say in a soothing tone. They all linked hands except for a small girl, who looked about four years old. I scooped her up with one arm, and held Thomas's hand with the other. We started across the street. It was slow, but I knew I couldn't push these kids any faster.
We were halfway across when a bunch of the small ships passed overhead, taking random shots. I felt Thomas's hand start to shake, and the girl I was holding dug her head into my shoulder, starting to cry. Our precession stopped and I looked at the kids. "Don't look at the big bad aliens, I need all of you to look at me." I said. They did as they were told. "What are the rest of your names?" I asked, trying to get their minds off of what was happening around them.
        "Sam."
        "Cassie."
        "Emily."
"Alex." I started to walk again, pulling them with me.
"Very good. Now how old are you guys?" I asked.
        "Eight."
        "Six."
"Five." I smiled reassuringly at them.
        "What's your name?" Thomas asked.
"I'm called Blaze, and I am nineteen." I said, pulling them to get them to walk faster. We get to the building a few seconds later, and I find the basement door. I open it to see a crowd of people down there. I see a group of adults shove their way to the front and they grab their kids.
"Ana!" I hear a woman yell. I hand her the little girl in my arms and I see her sob. I turn to leave, but am stopped by her grabbing my arm. "Thank you." I smile and leave. As soon as I get outside, I hear Steve's voice in my earpiece.
"Sophie, are you at the tower?"
"No, I got held up. Chitari had a group of kids surrounded, but I handled it." I say. my body is surrounded by flames again as I start to run towards the tower. I listen to Clint and Tony talk about the ships and I try to find out where everyone is at through the chatter.
"Sophie, Nat is headed to the portal. See if you can deal with Loki."
"Got it." I get to the tower a few minuets later, just in time to see Nat jump off one of the small ships, and onto the roof. I run into the building, completely ignoring the elevators. I found the stairwell and I started to climb. Thank goodness for the stair machine at the training center, or else I would be done for. After a while, I finally hit the floor that Loki had been on. I scan the room and see nothing. Suddenly, Loki crashes onto the balcony with a groan. I start to walk over, but run back behind the bar when I see a familiar green figure flying towards us. I'm behind the bar fast enough to not get hit by any glass or debris when the Hulk throws Loki and they both tumble inside. The Hulk starts to come at Loki, but Loki jumps up.
"ENOUGH!" Loki screams, making Hulk pause. "You are all of you beneath me. I am a god, you dull creature, and I will not be bullied by-" He is cut off when Hulk grabs his leg and starts to slam him into the ground repeatedly. Hulk finishes with one final slam, leaving Loki in a Loki-sized crater in the floor.
"Puny god." I hear Hulk say. I fight down a laugh at that. when I'm sure that the Hulk has left, I slip out from behind the bar and stand over Loki.
"How you doing, Greeny?" I ask him. his only response is a high pitched moan. "Now, you see, this is what you get when you throw people out of windows and helicarriers. Lots and lots of pain." I shook my head and tsked. "I tried to warn you." I walk out to the balcony, and I see Loki's scepter. "Loki's down. hulk got to him, and I highly doubt he will be moving for a while." I say into my earpiece.
"Alright. Come help me on the ground." Steve says. I nod and run back through the room and to the stairwell.
"Bye Greeny! I've got to go kill your army! Wish me luck!" I say as I pass by Loki. I run down the stairwell and join the fight.

I eventually end up fighting beside Thor and Steve, taking out a group that has us surrounded. Steve gets a shot directly to the stomach, and Thor and I finish taking out the rest of the group. I take out the last Chitari and start to turn back to Steve and Thor. I start to walk towards them when there is a sudden, sharp pain in my side. I collapse to find that a Chitari hat I thought was dead had stabbed me in the side, right under the ribcage. "You ready for another bout?" I hear Thor ask.
"Why? They getting sleepy?" Cap says. "Where's Sophie?" he asks suddenly, noticing my absence. I groan, clutching my side, and start to get up.
"Lady Crest! Are you hurt?" Thor asks, helping me to my feet. I look at my side. It's not too bad, but it is bleeding heavily. I sigh and flame up, knowing it will help speed up the healing, or, at the very least, stop the bleeding.
"Just a little stab wound, Ill be fine as long as I stay lit, but I'm running out of energy. don't know how long till I pass out." Steve nods slowly, his frown showing that he didn't like my situation.
"I can close it. Can anybody copy?" I hear Nat say through the earpiece. "I can shut the portal down."
        "Do it!" Steve yells.
        "No, wait," Tony says.
"Stark, these things are still coming." Cap says.
"I've got a Nuke coming in. It's less than a minuet, and I know just where to put it."
        "You can't!" I say.
"Stark, you know that's a one way trip." Steve says.
"Save the rest for when I return." Tony passes above us, turning the nuke into the path of the portal. He disappears inside. I  hold my breath, waiting for him to come out. The Chitari around us all suddenly collapse. Tony doesn't come back out.
"Close it." Steve says, and I turn towards him, shock covering my face. Tony cant be dead. He just needed more time to get out. The portal closes, and I see something fall out a second before it snaps shut.
        "Tony!" I cheer.
"Son of a gun." Steve says. Tony continues to fall.
"He is not slowing down." Thor says. He starts to swing his hammer, about to take off, when the Hulk comes out of nowhere, catching him. They land on the ground and we run over. Thor flips Tony right side up and tears his mask off. Tony is not breathing. We all stand, completely silent, and sadness claws its way into me. Flames slowly leave my body until I make my hair stay lit.
Suddenly, Hulk roars, and Tony's eyes shoot open. He takes in a few deep breaths before speaking.
"What the hell?!" He says. "What just happened?" He asked, looking at all of us. "please tell me nobody kissed me." I laugh at that.
"We won." Steve says. Tony sighs and leans his head back.
"Alright, Yay. alright, good job guys. Lets just not come in tomorrow. Lets just take a day." Tony starts babbling. "Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is but I want to try it."
"We are not finished yet." Thor says.
"And then shawarma after." Tony says. My stomach growls loudly. "See? She agrees with me."

All of us are back at the tower minuets later, surrounding Loki. he groans and pulls himself up on the steps. He looks at all of us in turn. "If it's all the same to you, I'll have that drink now." he says. I Smirk as I manipulate the alcohol in the open container in the bar area, getting it into a ball, and dumping it over his head. He lets out an angry breath as he wipes the liquid off his face. "Was that really necessary?" he asks, looking over at me.
"Very." I say. crossing my arms.
