"Wake up." I hear someone say. I groan and turn over. "Hey, girl that my grandfather let sleep here, can you please get your butt out of bed?" I frowned and sat up, eyes instantly shooting open. What the..... How did I get here?
"What.... How...." I say, but I can't think of anything to say.
"Nice to see that you are finally up." The girl says with a smirk. She has brown hair in a pixie cut, deep blue eyes, and is tall. At least six feet. Why did everyone have to be taller than me? I mean, I'm short. I get it, could you people at least try to be average size?
"Um, not to be rude or anything, but where am I?" I ask when I finally get my voice back.
"Denver Indiana, the guest bedroom in Gramps and I's House, on the bed, currently listening to me explain about where you are." She says.
"Thanks." I say sarcastically. she rolls her eyes, but smiles.
"Gramps sent me up here to get you for breakfast." She says. She starts to head for the door, but stops before she gets out of the doorway. " Bathroom is right across the hall for when you shower, and the kitchen is at the bottom of the stairs, the door right next to the front door."
"What's your name?" I call out before she leaves.
"Kimberly. Don't call me that though, call me Kim. If you call me Kimberly, I'll have to hurt you." she says, narrowing her eyes at me before she bursts out laughing. "Just kidding. But seriously, don't call me Kimberly. It's annoying." She leaves, and I slowly get out of the bed. I grabbed a set of clothes from my backpack and hurried across the hall, taking a quick shower before getting dressed. I cleaned up the room I had slept in, making sure there was no evidence that I had been there, before swinging my backpack across my shoulders and headed down the stairs.
I walked into the kitchen to see Greg making bacon and eggs, and Kim sitting at the counter reading. My backpack hit the doorframe, making them both look up. "I, uh.... I'm just going to get going now." I say, nervously looking down at my shoes. "Thank you for letting me sleep here." I add. I turn for the door and reach for the handle.
"Where do you think you are going?" Greg asks, and I freeze. "I made enough eggs and bacon for three, not two. You aren't going anywhere until you eat your part." I let out a sigh of relief. For a second there, I thought that I might have been picked up by a murderer or....worse.
"I really should go." I say.
"Just humor us." Kim says, rolling her eyes. "It's not like you have somewhere to be, right?"
"Are you sure?" I ask, looking over at them.
"Just sit your butt down and eat." Kim says, and I slowly walk over and sit down next to her.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ An hour later~*~*~*~*~*~

I was laughing at something that Kim had said when the doorbell rang. Greg looked up at her curiously. "Were you expecting anyone?" He asks her. She shakes her head, and he gets up and starts towards the door.
"It's probably just Mrs. B. You know she always needs something." Kim says to him. He nods absentmindedly before turning the small corner to reach the front door that was a few feet away.
"Um, Hello. What can I do for you?" I here Greg ask.
"Sorry to disturb you so early in the day, sir." I hear Steve say. My eyes widen in shock and I freeze. Kim looks at my expression, confused. She gets up out of her seat and starts towards the front door, despite my feverish gestures at her to stop.
"Gramps, who is it-" Kim cuts off, and there is a second of silence. "Oh my..... You're Captain America." She says, shock and awe in her voice.
"Yes ma'am, I am. I was hoping to ask your Grandfather a few questions." Steve says.
"THE Captain America?" Kim asks again, still shocked. Steve sighs, but before he can say something, another voice buts in.
"Yes, Capsicle is right here." Tony says. "Why are you fangirling over him? I'm Tony Stark! You know, Iron man?" He says. Knowing him, he said that with a smirk set proudly upon his face.
"Why would I care about Tony Stark when Captain freaking America is standing right in front of me?" Kim asks. I cover my mouth to keep myself from laughing in the minuet of silence that followed.
"I think that is the first time that Tony has been speechless." I hear Bruce say with a laugh. How many of them were here?
"What was it you needed to talk to me about?" Greg asks, getting back on topic. I hear a rustle of papers.
"Yesterday you were seen in a diner with this woman at 12:15 to 12:57. Can you confirm that this was you?" I listen to the silence.
"I don't know the exact times, but yes. I had dinner with her because she was hitch hiking, and she was riding along." There is a pause. "Why? What's so special about her?"
"That's classified, sir." Steve says. "Can you tell us where she went?"
"It's classified." Greg says without hesitation.
"Ex-Excuse me?" I hear Bruce stutter out.
"If she isn't important enough to tell us about why you are looking for her, then I'm not going to tell you where she went." Greg says coldly. "She seemed perfectly innocent, and she probably doesn't want you after her for a reason."
"Sir, we are just trying to protect her-" Steve is cut  off.
"Then explain." Kim says. I hear another sigh.
"This girl is Blaze. She ran away because some people are after her and she wanted to protect us. We are trying to find her and bring her home so we can protect her from the people after her. She isn't thinking strait, and we want her back with us." Steve says. I hear the frustration in his voice, and I feel bad for putting them through this. As long as it kept them safe, then it was all worth it.
"She left me about an hour after the diner. Said she was going south. Something about heat." Greg says after a moment of silence. "She also bought some hair dye and sunglasses. Brown hair dye I think." He continues. I'm a little shocked. Why was he lying for me?
"Thank you." Steve says. "This will help us a lot." There are a few more words, but they leave quickly, and soon I'm listening to the door snap close. Greg and Kim both come in and glare at me, causing me to look down, guiltily.
"So I, uh, guess I'll be leaving now." I say, walking towards the exit. they both stand in front of the door, arms crossed. "I need to get around you to leave." I say quietly.
"You are BLAZE?!" Kim shrieks. I look away.
        "I couldn't tell you." I say.
"Prove it." Kim says. I sigh and put up one of my hands. I light it on fire, and they both gape. I quickly put it out, waiting for the shock to finish going over them. Greg is the first one to break the silence.
"How can we help?" He asks, and I turn to him quickly.
"You don't help. I need to leave. They are getting to close." I say, panicked.
"What you need is a disguise." Kim says quietly. "They have a picture of you, and you look exactly like it. You can't hide from cameras for forever, so you need to change your look." Greg turns to her quickly, while I just stare wide eyed at her.
"Do you think you can do like you did for your friend on Halloween?" Kim nods. Greg pulls a credit card out of his wallet. "Go buy everything you need to make her unrecognizable." He says, handing her the card. "We want her to look completely different."
"Wait wait wait WAIT!" I yell. Kim stops halfway to the door. "I can't let you guys do this. You could be too much involved. I'm just a random girl, you don't need to help me." I say.
"Kim, go. I'll keep her here so we can figure out a plan of getting her somewhere safe." Greg says, completely ignoring my protests. Kim nods and leaves, quietly shutting the door behind her. "You, living room. I'll get a few maps from the car so we can figure something out." Greg says, exiting out a door that would probably lead him to a few maps I had seen in the car. I was still frozen in shock when he came back a minuet later. "Didn't I tell you to go to the living room?" He asks. I slowly nod, and I follow him out of the kitchen and to the room he specified.
After about two hours of planning, Kim comes back, arms laden with bags. "I had to go to Logansport to get everything. I had a great idea of what she should dress like." Kim says. "They won't give her a second glance with her dressed like this." I look at all of the bags.
"How much do I owe you?" I ask. "I have some money."
"Nothing." Greg says. He starts to fold all of the maps up. "Kim, take her upstairs and start with the hair. I'm guessing you got hair dye?" Kim nods, smiling. She grabs my arm and practically drags me up the stairs, and I help her carry the bags up. She takes them away from me before I can get a look at what is inside, and she shoves me into the bathroom. She hides the box from me, refusing to let me see the color.
"What color are you dying my hair?" I ask for the millionth time as she rubs the dye in.
"It's a secret. I want to see your face when you see it." She says with a smirk. I roll my eyes and grin at her.
"You people are crazy." I say. "Helping some random girl off the street."
"Yes, but where would you be without us?"
