Chapter Nineteen

Ella sat in her office.
Being away from people would do me some good, she thought. I need a vacation.

Then her door opened.

"Ella, how dare you send people to warn me?" Daniel asked, barging in.

Ella smiled.

"You fell into my trap, Daniel. I knew you'd come here." She said  and officers came in.

"You have to stay quiet. You've been charged with sexual abuse and assault."

"Ella please don't do this to me. Please."

Ella laughed and they took him out.

Cassandra was in Robert's kitchen preparing tea for herself. Robert was watching sports when he heard a knock on the door.

"Yes." He said and went to open the door. It was Ella.

"Ella." He called and smiled.

Cassandra came out and laughed.

"The bitch is here." She said.

"Officers, that's her." Ella said and the officers came in and went towards Cassandra.

"Wha....what did I do?" She asked.

They handcuffed her and took her away. Ella turned to leave and Robert pulled her back.

"Ella." He called.

"If you love me, let me go." She replied and he let her arm slip through his hand.

"Don't release them." She said and left.

Robert slumped on a chair.

If this was it, how everything just ended, I won't be able to forget you, he thought.

Weeks later, they all appeared in court.

".......I hereby sentence the both charged to....."

Ella closed her eyes to hear the sentence that would be given to Daniel and Cassandra.  She felt pity for both of them. She whispered something to her lawyer.

"Are you sure?" Amanda asked.

"Yes. I am." She replied.

"If I may speak your honor...." Amanda started.

The judge confused let her.
"Permission granted."

"Be merciful to them, not to let their judgement so painful. I know we all have made mistakes but sometimes we have to forgive. My client also wants to make a request since it was your honor who judged the case of Jide Balogun...."

"Yes, it was I. Go on."

"If it were possible, that you reduced his jail term. For the sake of humanity,your honor"
Amanda said and bowed.

The Judge sighed.

"Is this what you want, Ella Coker?"

Ella stood up, and sighed.

"Yes, your honor. That is what I want."  Ella looked at Robert's face. He smiled at her.

"Then it shall be granted. I sentence Daniel Ejiofor and Cassandra Dele to 4 years in prison, and Jide Balogun's sentence to 7 years. This is fair enough." He said and hit his gavel.

"Court!" The court warden shouted and everyone rose, the judge left the court.

ELLA COKER SHOWS FORGIVENESS TOWARDS OFFENDERS IN COURT

Miss Ella Coker has proved to be human as she begs for little punishment on her offenders.
This has never happened. We thank Ella Coker for her generosity.

Robert Williams in his words said:

'Ella Coker will always be an angel. The one I fell in love with.'

Ella sighed at the last sentence.

Should I give Robert a chance, she thought. Maybe not.

"Congratulations Ma'am." Uche said. "You were merciful. It was I...I would..."

"Make sure they're punished severely." Ella said. 

"Ma'am, Mr Williams is here to see you. I know I am just a worker but I have one request Ma'am."

"What's that?" Ella asked.

"Give him a try Ma'am. Please."

Ella smiled.

"I have heard you, Uche. Well I have something for you." She replied and brought out a letter.

"Have it."

Uche opened the letter and screamed.

"O my God....General manager?" She asked.

"Yes dear. Congratulations." Ella replied and she hugged her.

"Thank you so much Ma'am. I am so so grateful." Uche said almost kissing her feet.

"Hey, that's enough." Ella said and hugged her again. "Don't cry dear."

"They are tears of joy Ma'am. God bless you."

"And bless you too."

Ella took her purse and phone and walked outside. She saw Robert standing beside his car.

"Ella, I...." He started to say.

"Shh." Ella said and slid into his arms.
"Its fine."

"I..." He tried to say again and Ella kissed him.

"That's to show that you're forgiven." Ella said and he hugged her.

"Where are we going?" He asked.

"I'll go anywhere....anywhere in the world, as long as I am with you." She said and he smiled.
