Chapter Two

Ella woke up to more than 20 texts from Jide.

"Fuck it!" She thundered and threw her phone away from her.

She went into the bathroom and showered. She had a meeting with an important client. Not ready to miss it.

She picked out a black set of heels, and a red floral gown. She looked at her mirror and combed her hair. She needed to go to a salon. She wore her heels and went out of the room, her purse in her hand.

"Morning Amara." She greeted Amara who was in the kitchen.

"Morning Ma."

"Can you just call me Ella or maybe Aunt Ella, that'd be nice." Ella said.

"Okay, Aunt Ella. I don't have lectures today."

"Okay dear. So you can cook when you're hungry. Please call me if you need anything okay."

"Okay." She said and smiled.

"I won't eat breakfast. I'll be back as soon as I can." Ella said and smiled.

Ella left the house and drove in her SUV to the office.

"Good Morning, Miss Coker." One of the security officers greeted.

"Morning Job." She said and drove in.

She came out of the car, handed her keys to the other security officer to park her car properly.

She walked into Coker's Textile and Design company.

"Morning, Miss Coker." People greeted.

She walked in, not replying.

"Maybe she's upset again," someone said to her colleague.

"Keep your mouth shut." The other replied. "You no dey hear word."

Ella walked to her office door. Uche wasn't seated. Ella nodded and went into her office.

"Phew." She said and spun herself around on her chair.
She heard a knock.

"Morning ma'am." It was Uche.

"Morning Uche. Do I still get to meet Mr Williams today?"

"Yes ma'am. By 10am."

"Okay." Ella said.

"Can you get me a cup of tea? With some fiber biscuits, if you don't mind." She added.

"Okay ma'am." Uche said and left.

Ella had her tea and biscuits and focused on some work.

Uche knocked and came in.

"Ma'am, Mr Williams is here."

Ella stood up and went out to see him. She hasn't met him before. Wanted to.

"Hello, Miss Coker." He said.

Ella stared at him.
Wow, she thought.

"Hello, Mr Williams. Here." She said escorting him to her office.

"Sit, please." Ella said and sat down.

"Thanks."

"Welcome. What do I offer you before we begin?"

"Nothing I am fine."

"Okay Sir." She said and sat down.

They began to talk business, going into an hour or so.

"Nice." Mr Williams said.

Uche knocked hastily interrupting them.

"Yes." Ella answered.

"Ma'am, pick your call. Its Amara. She's in tears ma'am."

Ella picked her phone and answered the call hastily.

"Amara, what is it?"

Amara sniffed and said something that made Ella gasp.

"O my God. That bastard?" She stood up and paced.
"I'll be there."

"Any problem Miss?" Mr Williams asked.

"We can schedule this for another day." She said hastily and ran out.

She got into her car and drove crazily across the road.

She got home and opened the door.

"Amara." She called and went around looking for her.
She found Amara at the back of a sofa, blood stains everywhere, on the wall and around her chair.

"Amara!" Ella screamed, tears gathering around her eyes. "Did you say that Jide raped you?"

"Yes. He....he..."

Ella gathered her in her arms and rocked her.
"Am taking you to the hospital."
She said and helped her up and had to clean her up.
