"Ned? Where are you taking me!" I asked a little frustrated at the way he was just dragging me around pointlessly.

"I told you! We're going to meet my cousin Gemma. Now quit your whining come on."

I pulled out my phone pretending to see a notification.

"Oh man... Mr. Stark needs me-" I began acting but Ned cut me off.

"Yeah uh huh..." He looked into my eyes with disbelief as I looked back with complaint.

Ned's phone rang breaking up our staring contest and leaving the winner more or less undecided. I zoned out thinking of all the better things I could be doing instead of meeting up with Ned's cousin and showing her around in the car fumes of busy Manhattan.

Meanwhile Ned was dragging me along again as he conversed with his cousin attempting to find her in the crowd. Grand central terminal might be a very central place but it still was difficult to find people there.

Eventually a girl in overalls with a short bob, walked up to us and gave Ned a big hug. Behind her followed a shorter girl with longer hair, round glasses and soft freckles. However, her head was facing downwards shyly.

"Gemma, this is my best friend Peter and I see you brought Y/n along!" Ned let out his characteristic chuckle,  "Y/n it's been so long since I've seen you. You're still short as ever"

Then the girl finally picked up her head revealing mysterious grey orbs fueled by fire. She walked over to Ned determined to poke him repeatedly until he apologized for insulting her height.

"Ned! This is what I get for coming to see you, you fat teddy bear!" She teased back gently, her cheeks now dusted by a soft pink.

"Well hi there Peter. So you are our experienced guide that Ned mentioned?" Gemma spoke to me pulling my attention away from the short girl's attack.

"Uhhm I wouldn't call myself that experienced," I stuttered a little. "But it's nice to meet you and I will try my best!"

"Not experienced my ass," Ned cut in, apparently finally free from Y/n. "Peter knows Manhattan like nobody else, he knows its ups and downs, the layout from above and he has even made friends with all the pigeons."

I scratched my neck and smiled shyly. He had a point. I was Spiderman after all...

"Okay Ned. I get that you fell in love and want to see Hector again but you seriously can't know which one of all the flying rats, he is. " I joked, "This way ladies"

"Who's Hector?" Y/n asked.

"And we're back in Times Square which.... umm concludes our tour of downtown New York with minimal standing around and pain in the feet" I chuckled softly although it felt so awkward to me.

"That was a great tour! I really enjoyed seeing everything. But I'm a bit hungry after all the walking." Y/n chuckled.

"We could grab some street food! Or some larb?" Ned turned to his cousin to gauge her reaction.

"Well what does Mr. New York over here have to recommend?"

And just like that the spotlight was back on me. And just like that... My mind went blank.

Y/n chuckled as she saw my face go pale, or so I assumed. I was doing a great job of embarrassing myself.

"What do you girls like? U-umm we could get hotdogs or burgers or corn dogs or anything you like really..." I scratched my nape out of reflex.
