Chapter 43: Hopeful

**Author's short rant:  This is quite frustrating.. Its been a rollercoaster ride so far.  The ranking for the story got to its highest at #2, then dropped to #6, #7, then all of a sudden its #100ish.. I've no idea how it happened like instantly, overnight. To say that it didn't affect me much was complete bull. Nevertheless, I would like to thank the rest of my loyal readers who put up with me up to this point and those who voted. I love you all!!! ** end of rant.

Chapter 43

*Beep Beep.

The sudden message alert from his phone startled Yibo who was still in a daze.

Yoona: Yibo ge lets have lunch together.'

Yibo: Alright Yoona. Send me the time and place.

They went to an Italian restaurant nearby. The entrance wall was a canopy of garden wall that was green and lush.  Its point of entry was through a glass tunnel that had hanging vines of grapes on top. The corridor opened to a cozy space with red brick walls. Romantic christmas lights curled its way to the branches shaped chandeliers at the ceiling. There were mini trees and potted plants placed around the area recreating the feel of a romantic italian garden.

Under a different circumstance it would be a romantic place.  Yet Yibo did not grasp the mood one bit. He wore his usual cold expression and sat down with Yoona. She ordered pasta and so did Yibo. She was telling him about her day, her classmates, her assignments and blabbering non stop as usual. Yibo replied her with the usual Mmmns and an occasional short smile.

After lunch, they went for a short walk. He thought he would accompany her for abit since it might be their last time.

They went to a nearby park and sat on a bench overlooking a pond. Yoona began taking out some snacks and throwing it into the pond. Little fishes gathered around the fallen crumbs and began to fight over them. She watches the scene in delight and continued her interaction with the fishes. Yibo sat down on the bench watching her, deep in thought.

He looked at her cheerful and carefree face. She had been good girlfriend. She did nothing wrong. The one wrong thing she probably did wrong was to fall in love with him. It was he who was no good for her.

"Ge there's this movie coming out with my favourite actor.. "

"Yoona. I've something to tell you. Will you hear me out?"

He did not let her finish her sentence.

She turned to look at him and caught his stoic expression, devoid of any warmth.

"Did you remember something ge?"

"No. "

She wrapped her hands around his.

He gently unwrapped them.

"Yoona..."

She had a bad feeling and her face turned pale

"We've been together for technically two months since I woke up.  All these time you've been there for me. You've been great. In fact, you're too good for me. I.. I'm sorry I dont know what happened in the past but right now I really have no feelings for you."

"Wait.. ge.. You are not breaking up with me are you?"

She was shocked.  She did not expect it to come this quickly. Tears trickled down her soft complexion.

"Please ge.. If there is something I should do to change, please tell me I will change. I will wait for you.. until you fall in love with me. I will wait ge.. so please don't break us apart.."
