Lenna walked next to Sam towards what looked like an old dam. Maria opened the gate and when they got inside they saw a man running towards them. "GSW. She's lost at least a pint." Maria shouted to him. "Maybe two." Sam added. "Let me take her." the man said but Maria stopped him by saying: "She'll want to see him first."
Lenna was confused of whom they were talking about. When Maria led them deeper into the secret facility they saw a room that was separated by plastic. When they got inside Lenna gasped silently at who she saw in the hospital bed. "About damn time." Nick called out.
Lenna leaned against the wall while Natasha's wound was being treated. "Call me when you have a plan." she said before walking away. She walked outside and on the dam. It was in the middle of nowhere so she sat on the edge and let her feet tangle off it. She rested her arms on her knees and tried to rub the fatigue out of her eyes. She let her arms fall into her lap but her eyes remained closed.
She heard someone come up towards her and by the heaviness of the steps she knew instantly who it was. "Captain Rogers. How can I be of service?" Lenna sighed while pulling herself up by the railing. "We have a plan. It's quite simple so you should be able to follow along with it, Sarge." Steve replied while offering her his hand for support. Lenna shook her head and Steve awkwardly put his hand in his pocket. "So your the Cap and I'm your Sarge?" Lenna asked while eyeing the man towering above her. "If you wish." Steve sighed and looked into the distance. "I'm okay with that." Lenna smiled and looked in the same direction as Steve. "So what's the plan?"
Another set of steps joined them. "He's going to be there, you know?" Sam stated the fact. "I know." Steve sighed. "Look who ever he used to be, the guy he is now. I don't think his the kind you save. He's the kind you stop." Lenna gave Sam a disapproving stare. "I don't know if I can do that." Steve said. "Well he might not give you a choice. He doesn't know you." Lenna's stare at Sam grew angrier. She wanted to shut him up but at the same time hear what he had to say. "He will, gear up! It's time." Steve said before walking away. "You gonna wear that?" Sam asked. "No. If you're gonna fight a war, you gotta wear a uniform."
---
"Wait am I the only one without a uniform?"
You don't like my clothes?
"Sorry, Sam. But I can't do shit in these jeans."
I'll grab something for you too then.
"Thanks Cap."
---
Steve opened the passenger door and sat in. He threw a pile of clothes onto Lenna's lap. "Oh wow, that's a nice hat." Lenna smiled. "It was the most fitting." Cap sighed. "Keep it safe. We are borrowing."
"Whose was it?" Lenna asked quietly while admiring the uniform she was wearing. "Dum Dum Dugan's." Steve smiled sadly while watching Lenna in his friends clothes. "He was a Sergeant too. You remind me of him with your jokes and overly happy attitude." Steve mumbled shyly. "I believe that." Lenna smiled at him while adjusting her hat. "Should I grow a pair of mustache?"
---
"Nice hat, Higgins." Sam laughed. "Nice wings, bird-brain." Lenna mocked back. "We have limited time before the Helicarriers take off and a lot of people die." Maria reminded them. "Nat is already gone. Fury will follow her. The rest of you are with me."
"Steve has Alpha, Sam Bravo and Lenna Charlie." Maria clarified while handing them their chips. "It's going to be a close call."
