"Please tell me that I can do something! I am bored to death." Lenna whined to Emily. "I'm sorry... Maybe Jack has something for you." Emily smiled apologetically. Lenna sighed and went to Jack's workshop.
"Hey." she mumbled quietly when she entered. "Hi." Jack nodded without looking away from his work. "What are you doing?" Lenna asked and tried to peek over Jack's shoulder. "My radio station is broken and I have tried to fix it for an hour now with no luck." Jack sighed and lifted his glasses on his head. "Let me take a look." Lenna offered and sat on Jack's chair after he stood up.
"I don't think you can make this work. I should just get a new one." Jack sighed while pinching the bridge of his nose. "Give me a sec." Lenna said and quickly checked the wiring inside. She then moved on to the little parts and finally found the problem which she quickly fixed. "Done. Try now." Lenna stood from the chair. Jack looked at her with a sceptical look and tried to turn on the station. When it started working properly his scepticism turned into amazement. "How did you?" he asked while looking between Lenna and the radio station. "I fixed a WW2 radio station so that one wasn't hard at all." Lenna smiled and patted on Jack's shoulder while he still stared at the radio station.
"Hey, I think I broke your dad." Lenna chuckled when he found Logan outside cleaning his gun. "It happens." Logan nodded still very focused on his job. "So can I help you?" Lenna asked quietly. "Um, yeah, sure. Take this." Logan mumbled and handed Lenna another gun. Lenna grinned excitedly and quickly disassembled the gun. She then cleaned the parts and assembled the gun very quickly.
"Oh, wow. Um, that was fast." Logan looked surprised. "I know guns quite well." Lenna smiled proudly and switched the guns with Logan. She did the same thing again but even faster now. "I think I'll join dad in being broken." Logan mumbled with wide eyes as Lenna handed him the second gun as well. "Suit yourself." Lenna smiled and went inside to find Emily.
"So I broke both of your men. Can I now help you?" Lenna asked chuckling quietly to herself. "I think Sofia needed help with cleaning her room." Emily smiled and nodded towards upstairs. "I'll check." Lenna smiled and walked up the stairs.
"Sofia?" Lenna asked quietly while pushing the door to her bedroom open. "Hello, Jennifer." she mumbled shyly. "I heard you needed help. Can I do something?" Lenna smiled. "I need to put that box up there." Sofia pointed from a large box to a high shelf. "I can do that." Lenna nodded and picked up the box.
When she was on the tips of her toes to push the box up Sofia caught a glimpse of her prothesis. "What's that?" she asked curiously. "What's what?" Lenna asked confused when she turned towards the little girl and kneeled infront of her. "Your leg. It was so skinny and shiny." Sofia explained and pointed on Lenna's leg. "Well you see a very bad thing happened and I lost my leg. And now I have a metal leg that a very good man made for me." Lenna smiled sadly when she thought about Tony.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Sofia giggled. "No, we had a fight and he hurt me. But that doesn't make him a bad man. He is still good in his heart, he just had a bad day." Lenna sighed. "Are you sad?" Sofia asked worriedly. "A bit. But sometimes sadness is good and it keeps us going."
"Can you read me a bedtime story?" Sofia asked when she was already in bed. "Um, sure. What book?" Lenna asked smiling at the cute girl. "That one." Sofia smiled excitedly and held up a book. "Oh, sweety. I can't read that one. I don't know French." Lenna smiled apologetically. "What about that one then?" Sofia asked and held up another one. "That I can do."
---
"Hey Lenna. Your phone rang. Someone named Steve Rogers." Emily held up Lenna's phone. "Did you answer?" Lenna asked with a calmness to hid her fear. "No. Not my business." Emily shook her head and threw Lenna her phone. "Thanks, Emily. I'll be right back." Lenna nodded towards outside.
"What is it, Rogers?"
So last name base again? Anyways I need your help.
"Whit what?"
Tony. He-
"Say no more. I'll come. Tell me where."
"Um Jack?" Lenna called out for him shyly. "Yeah, Jennifer." he answered from the kitchen. "I need a lift to Germany."
---
"Tell me again why this couldn't wait." Jack sighed. "Because the Avengers are ready to kill eachother and I need to stop that." Lenna explained as simply as she could. "And let me guess you aren't Jennifer Smith." Jack smiled knowingly. "No... I'm not. I'm sorry that I lied to you all. The last time I did that I was ready to pretend to be a man for the rest of my life. It went so far that I basically had a girlfriend." Lenna chuckled embarrassed. "Oh wow. Are you a-" Jack was cut off by Lenna saying: "A lesbian? No." Jack nodded and continued flying quietly.
---
"I have no idea what to say." Lenna mumbled nervously. "Yell at both sides and when no one listens to you then fuck them and walk away." Jack laughed. "Well I'd like that but they might actually kill eachother and then I'd feel guilty for walking out." Lenna sighed and closed her eyes. "Well you better think quickly because we will be there in a few minutes."
"I really need a cigarette."
