CHAPTER 45

Jennie's POV

I've been very busy handshaking and thanking these people when I do realized there is something wrong. My eyes widen in nervousness.

"Leo..." It was more like a whisper to myself. My heart began to thump fast. It's as if an ice bucket was being soaked all over my entire existence. It's a thing about being a mother. Whatever happens to your children will impact great aftershocks on you whether positive or negative. Small things do matter. When I say small things, I really mean the smallest of the smallest things. A mother would always notice what's wrong with her children. Why? Because it's the mother who gave birth to the child. It's her who carry her child inside her womb. No matter how painful it can be. A real mother will always prioritize the life inside her before herself. I notice sweat dripping. It was actually fully air-conditioned yet here I am, soaking.

"...where are you?" Minutes by minutes of not seeing my son made me more and more anxious. God. He's just 4 years old.

Pabalik balik ako sa pinanggalingan ko subalit hindi ko talaga makita maski ang anino niya.

"Hon..." A hand grabbed my waist. By his scent, I knew it was my husband. He placed a kiss on my temple, but I have no time for this right now.

"Kai... Leo is missing... I mean, I am just holding his hand earlier, and I don't fucking know what happened and-"
I wasn't able to finish my sentence as my tears started to dwell up. Kai hugged me tighter and stroked my hair.

"Shhh... Please calm down okay... Calm down."

"Kai what the fuck?! How can I when basically our son is just missing?!" I wasn't able to control my anger, I raised my voice. May iba na ang napapatingin sa amin. Napansin marahil ito ng aking asawa.

"Come on hon, calm down. We cannot ruin your daughter's moment." I realized he was right. I shouldn't do stupid things to ruin this precious night. I took a quick glance at Ella smiling while cherishing a moment with her masterpieces. Seeing her somehow made me feel a bit calm. Kai smiled at me then kissed my right cheek.

"Good... Now, let me go to the security-" I stopped him.

"...I thought we won't be doing any disturbing actions?"

"Yes, we won't wife. We will just secretly ask for their assistance, okay?" I have nothing to go against and so I nodded.

What if something bad happens to him? I can't be able to forgive myself for that.

Patuloy akong naglakad, lumilinga sa paligid, pinagmamasdan ang mga dumaraan. Binalikan ko ang mga dinaanan namin na natatandaan ko. It was just a spark but a glimpse of it caught my eyes. The gold sculpture. It was oddly familiar. Where did I saw that again?

My mind was debating whether to get a close view to the sculpture or turn around, forget that sculpture and find my son.

At the end, I still chose to take a close look. Wala namang mawawala 'diba? It was when I am almost a seven feet apart from the sculpture when I do realized that Leo is there. In front of the sculpture.

I ran fast, not caring about anyone else. Not caring about anything but to get to my son. Hindi ko na napansin ang paligid. Sa anak ko lang nakatutok ang atensyon ko.

"Leo! Oh God! You're here, I almost called the security because I can't see you." Paiyak kong sinabi. Hindi ko maipaliwanag kung gaano ako kasaya. Hindi maipaliwanag ang pakiramdam. Niyakap ko siya ng mahigpit.
