Kate's P.O.V
We make our way towards the spot where I saw the glowing door. Honestly I'm scared, really scared, but my curiosity beats fear every time. I know I'm not the only one though. I look over and see Ryan looking everywhere like something might jump out at us, and Lucy too.
Finally we arrive, but there's nothing there.
"Where is it?" Lucy asks disappointed.
I furrow my eyebrows. "I don't know, I know I saw it here, in this opening in the mountain."
"Well it isn't here now," Ryan says.
"Maybe it only shows in the daylight," Lucy says.
I shake my head. "No I don't think so."
"You wanna come back here tomorrow when it's light outside?" Ryan asks.
I don't say anything just stare at the empty space. Maybe it was nothing, but why do I feel otherwise?
"Okay, let's go," I finally say turning around.
We don't get that far because I see out of the corner of my eye something glowing.
Something glowing.
I whip around making Lucy jump and Ryan almost tumble backwards.
"Kate why did-" Lucy stops when she follows my gaze. Her mouth hanging open.
"What-" Ryan does the same.
Now we're just standing there staring at the glowing door, unable to move. Until finally I shake my head and begin to move toward it. When I look back my friends are still staring and I call them over.
I step in front of the door my hand on the doorknob.
Not gonna turn back now.
Lucy's P.O.V
I knew something was wrong with Kate. It was bugging me but I wasn't going to ask. I was gonna wait, give her "the look" so she can spill because I knew she kept fidgeting. Then she told us.
So now we're down here in the mountain where Kate said she saw the glowing door and we find nothing. I was actually disappointed when there wasn't a door there. Seeing how Kate's face felt when there wasn't anything there makes me frown. She really wanted to see it. So did I and I bet Ryan too. I had doubts though.
We make our way back to the hotel but don't get far when Kate spins around making me jump at the sudden movement.
"Kate why did-" I didn't finish my sentence because I looked what she was staring at and my jaw dropped.
It was the glowing door. I couldn't move, all I could do was stare. All of us did. Until Kate made her way toward it telling us to follow.
Ryan and I stand next to Kate as she reaches for the doorknob.
Here goes nothing.
Ryan's P.O.V
I was really excited to hear about going on an adventure, but I was also scared like the rest of us. Maybe it would be dangerous, fun, exciting, unpredictable, or maybe all of the above. You never know until you try. I knew Lucy worried about us but I knew she wanted to go too. All of us did.
We end up going to the place where Kate said she saw the door. When we get there I saw nothing, just empty space. I could see all of us were disappointed, but mostly Kate. Her face looked hurt and upset. She really wanted to see that glowing door.
Lucy wanted to make her feel better saying it only showed in the day time. I asked if we could come by tomorrow. Kate finally gave up and we all walked away from the empty spot. Until Kate swirled around catching me off guard and I tumble backwards.
"What-" I paused in mid sentence as I see a glowing door.
Kate was right.
All I could do was stare. All of us stared. Kate was the first to come to her senses and make her way towards it. Telling us to follow her.
We all stand next to each other as Kate places her hand on the knob.
Here we go.
