Kate's P.O.V

I know I saw something, but what? I didn't want to tell Lucy or Ryan because they might freak out and who knows maybe I didn't see anything. My eyes were playing tricks on me. Though I have this urge to go back to the mountain and go to the spot I saw that thing, whatever it was.

Lucy keeps looking at me while we're watching Friends on tv. She might know something's up with me. I have to tell them. Their my best friends, plus the look Lucy keeps giving me. We always crack when she gives us "the look".

"I have to tell you two something," I say.

"What's up?" Ryan says moving to my bed along with Lucy who remains quiet.

"I saw something while we were snowboarding."

"That's why you were acting weird," Ryan says like he just now realizes it.

"You just now realized?" Lucy raises her eyebrows.

"I knew Kate was acting weird but I didn't want to say anything," he defends.

"Sure," Lucy says rolling her eyes.

Ryan looks back at me. "Is it a cute guy? Did you see a cute guy while snowboarding? Or wait is it the mafia? It's probably the mafia. Then again the cute guy does sound pretty legit-"

"Neither!" I swat Ryan's arm.

"Hey! I'm just trying to figure it out," he laughs.

"Was it something bad?" Lucy asks with concern in her voice and worry in her eyes.

I shake my head. "I honestly don't-"

"Maybe a murder!" Ryan interrupts.

Lucy and I swat his arm.

"Again, I'm trying to figure it out."

"Let her finish," Lucy says.

I sit up straighter. "I saw something that looked like a door."

"A door? You know doors are part of houses so you probably just saw-"

"Shh!" Lucy smacks Ryan's arm and he rubs it.

"Owe."

"Let Kate finish!"

"It wasn't just any door!"

"Was it a colorful door?" Ryan asks.

Lucy huffs and I clench my fists.

"Your vain is popping out now," Ryan says.

"I know! I'm irritated!" I hiss.

"Sorry you can continue."

I take a deep breath and exhale. "Thank you."

"Your welcome."

I glare at Ryan and he smiles.

"Anyway, I didn't just see any normal old looking door, I saw a door that glowed."

"Glowed?" Lucy and Ryan say at the same time.

"I wanna check it out."

"Check it out? Are you crazy Kate?" Lucy's eyes widen.

"I think that would be cool," Ryan says.

"Cool? Ryan your crazy too!"

"Aw come on Lucy, it will be an adventure!" I smile holding her arms so she can look at me.

"Yeah! It will be so much fun! You know you want to," Ryan elbows Lucy.

She hesitates then sighs. "Your right."

Ryan and I exchange looks and smile.

"If it turns out to be something horrible and we could end up being dead, I'm gonna kill you both."

"We won't die! Just have fun," Ryan says.

"So tonight?" I suggest.

"Why not tomorrow?" Lucy frowns.

"At night everything seems more fun."

"Okay," Lucy smiles but I can see worry and fear in her eyes.

I know Lucy is protective over us, she's like a mom. That's one of the things that I love about her, but she is also fun too. So I know right now she's cautious but she always ends up having fun like Ryan and I. She's still a teenager.
