Lucy's P.O.V

How did he know our names? More importantly how did he do that to Kate's arm?

"It was sizzling and looked like it was going to burn through your arm, then disappeared."

"I know," Kate's says her voice shaky.

"Should we report him?" I ask.

"There isn't a mark left anywhere, we have no proof," Ryan sighs.

"I'm gonna look him up."

"Why?" I ask Kate.

"So I know who this guy is, he might not even be a real officer," Kate gets up and out the door.

"Wait up!" Ryan follows her and I do the same.

"Now?" I catch up with my friend.

"Yeah now, the sooner the better."

We arrive back at the lobby and Kate tells us to wait.

I don't think so.

I pull Ryan by the arm to follow Kate.

"Excuse me?" She asks.

"Yes?" A man looks up from his computer.

"I was wondering if there is an Officer Chad that works here."

"Is there a problem?" The man frowns.

"No, I was just wondering."

The man stares at Kate but then finally looks back at his computer.

"No I'm sorry there isn't an Officer Chad that works here."

"Oh okay. I must be mistaken then, thank you anyway."

Officer Chad isn't a real officer here. Then who is he?

Kate walks back to us before he can say anything else.

"I knew it," Kate hisses.

"So what now?" I ask.

"We go back to where the glowing door is."

"What if it isn't there again? I mean you don't know with that door," Ryan says.

"Well maybe Chad is there again."

We all walk out in the cold winter air.

"Let's go," Kate says.

"Now? What if people are there?"

"Yeah Lucy's right, shouldn't we go at night?"

"Fine," Kate sighs.

***

I don't feel well.

First finding the glowing door that disappears and coming back again, then this officer stops us, finding out he is fake and now going back to the glowing door that might not even be there.

Now it's an hour after midnight and we are standing in front of the the place we saw the door.

There is nothing there.

"Now what?" Ryan asks.

"Maybe to make it appear, we have to think about the glowing door all together."

"We can try," I say.

We all shut our eyes and I think about the glowing door. After about a minute I open my eyes and see my friends open their eyes too.

"This is useless," Ryan sighs.

"We need to focus," Kate says.

I shut my eyes again and focus really hard. The only thing I see is the glowing door. Then I see a flash in my eyes and snap them open.

There's the glowing door.

I look at Kate and Ryan with my mouth hanging open. I'm not the only one.

"It worked," Kate says her eyes locked on the door.

She walks toward it her hand shaking while she grabs the doorknob. Ryan and I stand next to her.

I look around and see no one.

"I don't see Chad," I say.

"So we can go in and no one will stop us?" Kate asks.

"There's only one way to find out," Ryan says.

With that Kate turns the knob.
