Akane's P.O.V

About two months passed since Hisoka and Juro's wedding and it started off like any normal day, I got home around noon from training with them and was washing up when there was a knock at my door. "Who is it?" I call out, pulling my shirt over my head and walking towards the door "It's Kakashi," Is yelled back and I open the door "Hey," I say, giving him a kiss on the cheek and leaning against the door "Naruto's coming home today, I just wanted to let you know" He says and my face lights up "Lady Tsunade is having me test him and Sakura on their skills and they're going to be watching us if you want too as well but we don't want to distract him too much before it" He explains to him and I sit down to put on my shoes "I can't believe my baby brother is finally coming home, I wonder how he grew up and if he looks more like mom or dad" I tell him and I can see him smile behind his mask.

I sit on top of the Hokage's rooftop and listen in on Lady Tsunade welcoming Naruto home. Kakashi pops up and it's told that Naruto and Sakura are going to fight him again, I follow along after with Lady Tsunade and Shizune, greeting them both "Are you happy to have Naruto home?" Lady Tsunade asks and I nod happily "He's grown up so well, he looks so much like mom too," I tell her with a smile and she smiles back at me "I also heard from Sakura that you and Kakashi are really close with each other" She teases, making me laugh "Yes, Kakashi and I are dating," I tell her "I wish the best for both of you then," She says and the match between Kakashi, Sakura, and Naruto begin, we fall into silence and watch the match. I end up jumping up into the trees to sit on a branch and get a better overall view of what was going on, seeing Sakura's all-out strength, Naruto's development in thinking about battle and his abilities in his jutsus. Sakura and Naruto beat Kakashi by trying to spoil the new book he got from Naruto and the match ends, Tsunade goes out and announces them as team Kakashi before leaving. I jump down from where I was sitting "Naruto!" I yell while falling and land in front of him before launching on him and giving him a hug.

"Onee-chan," Naruto says in shock and hugs me back tightly "You've grown up so much Naruto, I can't believe it," I tell him and let go of him and step back to see him crying "I'm so glad you're okay, I stopped getting updates about you after a while and got really worried," He says, crying harder now and I hug him again while rubbing his back "I could never leave you Naruto," I tell him and we stay there for a moment before he composes himself "Okay! Let's go eat! I'm dying for some Ichiraku" He announces and we all make our way towards the village, I walk with Sakura and Naruto while Kakashi and Jiraiya walk behind us a few feet and can hear Jiraiya tell Kakashi about Naruto's training. Jiraiya leaves just before Naruto and Sakura decided that Kakashi will be the one treating everyone to ramen "Sorry, I need to make the team roster to turn in tomorrow later, see ya" He says giving a little wave to us all and leaves "He ran," Naruto pouts "He probably just wants to read more of his book" Sakura adds, making me laugh cause it was probably true but he also did need to make the team roster. "I need to get going too, early training as always," I tell him, giving Naruto a hug and heading home.

A couple of days later I was with Kakashi having tea at a local shop when Gai comes up to us "My rival Kakashi and good friend Akane!" He announces as he sits across from us at our table "Hello Gai," I say, giving him a warm smile and setting my tea down "How come you two are sitting so close together?" He asks and I look at him confused "Gai," Kakashi sighs, looking defeat as he hangs his head a little and shakes it "Akane and I are dating" Kakashi finishes, meeting Gai's eyes and I blush a little, not expecting him to be so forward about it "Dating?" Gai questions and Kakashi nods, Gai puts a hand to his chin and thinks for a moment "I thought something weird was going on between you two" He thinks aloud, making me laugh now "Maybe we should tell the others, we haven't officially told anyone till now" I turn to Kakashi and he nods "It might be for the best so this doesn't happen again," Kakashi says and starts to laugh too as we stand to leave "Are you two leaving already?" Gai asks, finally opening his eyes and watching us "Yeah, we're gonna go tell the others the news, if they haven't figured it out already" I say, leaving the tip as Kakashi pays the bill "We'll see you around Gai," Kakashi says before holding my hand and we leave.

We go around to each of our friends, telling them the news with some of them being surprised and most of them giving a sigh of relief knowing that we were meant for each other and it was about time we got with each other. I sigh, sitting down on a bench exhausted from walking around the village to find everyone "Maybe I'm not fully back to normal yet," I think out loud, examining my hand by opening and closing a fist, Kakashi sits down next to me and places a hand on my lower back, rubbing it in slow circles. "Maybe this is just the new normal for you too, it's now like you can just pretend that the damage you had just didn't happen and disappeared with no effect at all," He says "I won't let it be the new normal, I'm still working on getting my mark of 100 healings back too. I think once I'm done with that I'll be able to function closer to normal for me" I say, giving him a smile to which he smiles back sadly "Don't push yourself, you know I need you here with me" He says softly, hold my hands with his and looking into my eyes and I sigh again "I love you Kakashi," I tell him and he kisses my forehead "I love you too Akane," He replies. The next day team Kakashi is sent out on a mission and I'm left at the village doing training and mission with Hisoka and Juro.

Did someone say filler chapter lmao sorry but sometimes there are things that need to be written to fill gaps. I've been thinking of doing a little spin-off book with short stories of things that happened during the blank periods in both books if anyone is interested, please comment and let me know! Loves.
