TW: Attempted sexual assault - at the end of the chapter.
Waking up made me want to scoop out both my eyes and feed them to a Rancor. Not only was my body stiff with pain, but the thought of seeing Kesyk all day flooded me with absolute despair.
I sat up, stretching my arms and legs in the process, trying my best to ignore the dull pain erupting from my shoulder. As I relaxed a scream escaped my lips, my eyes locked with another pair at the end of my bed.
"Mother of fucking kwath, you scared the shit out of me!" I angrily yelled. "Kesyk, what the kriff are you doing?"
He let out a deep laugh, finding me amusing for some twisted reason.
"We have training all day."
"Yeah I know that, why didn't you just wake me up instead of watching me sleep like a fucking creep?" I sneered.
"You look cute when you're asleep, I didn't want to disturb you." My body internally shuddered at his words.
"Well consider me disturbed." I glared up at him, he only reacted with that signature smug look.
Silence filtered the room again, I shuffled awkwardly - which was a mistake - the pain in my shoulder returned. My mind thought about how great a hot shower would feel right about now, not only would it relax my muscles and wash away the week old grime, but I could get away from Kesyk for a while.
"Is there a shower here I could use?" He looked at me, his face changing.
"With your injury, a sponge bath would be more appropriate, administered by me of course." His eyes burned into mine intensely, as his mouth twisted into a grin.
I let out an involuntary laugh. "Yeah that's not going to happen."
He watched me closely, trying to see if I would change my mind, I didn't. "I would need to look at your injury before I decide if you are able to have a shower."
"Aren't you a physical therapist, what qualifies you to decide when I am able to shower?" I challenged, biting back a smile at his unamused reaction.
"I am the doctor here. I have trained in medical arts, so that qualifies me to decide." His face turned slightly sinister, I had struck a nerve questioning his abilities.
Rolling my eyes, my fingers reached for the hem of my gown, pulling it over my shoulder slightly. He walked over to my side, grinning with pride at my compliance. The scar now held only two stitches right in the middle, I figured the rest must have fallen out while I was sleeping. Kesyk hummed as his fingers lightly grazed my scar, I watched his gaze travel from the top of my shoulder straight down.
"Hey, my scar is up here." I intervened when his eyes fixated on my breast. He didn't respond, only continuing to trace my injury for a few moments longer.
"You should be fine, go out the door and turn left, follow the hallway until you see a sign for the showers to your right."
I was surprised he was actually letting me go, quickly hurrying out of the bed, not waiting long enough to see him change his mind.
"Don't take too long, we have a lot to do today." He spoke as I reached the door.
Once I made it to the showers, I took a good look in the mirror. My face was pale and glistening with oil, my hair was still in braids which were now matted and gross. It took me at least ten minutes to even release my hair from its hold, it felt rough and stayed knotted as I tried to finger comb though.
Once undressed and in the shower, I relished under the hot water, remembering how great the heat felt on my skin. The longer I stood under the water, the more my muscles relaxed. I lost track of time, just enjoying the feeling of cleanliness which I have not experienced my entire stay in the hospital.
