I took a moment to marvel at his room, it was gigantic. The walls were made with that same metal as the rest of the base, except they were coated white and stood much taller. My eyes quickly scanned the area, far forward from the entrance was a cozy living space, donned with a sleek couch and long table in front. Right from there was his bedroom, opened by double doors, from a quick glance I could tell it was massive, his sheets were black which nicely contrasted the walls.

The last bit of space, directly to my right, stood a kitchen which fit in with the theme. It was huge, containing all the essential cooking amenities and topped off with a quaint eating area just in front.

There were a few closed doors to my left, one I guessed was the bathroom, my curiosity was peaked wanting to explore every inch of his room. Never in my life had I seen someone live so luxuriously, nevertheless imagined a space such as this was aboard our base. This was not the type of place I envisioned Kylo Ren to reside.

"What did you assume my quarters were like?" A voice spoke out. My gaze turned to his face, mouth still agape, cheeks reddening upon realizing he just watched me marvel like an idiot.

"Uh, dark..? Maybe a cave of some sort, like a secret lair." I half-joked. His lips crept upwards at my assessment, my body relaxed slightly, relieved he wasn't offended.

I stood awkwardly in his front entrance, feet shuffling nervously. His gaze was intense and the way his body towered over mine did not help with my nerves. Was he always this tall... and buff?

Kylo let out a small and quiet chuckle, my eyes widened as my brain momentarily forgot he could read minds. Hearing him laugh however did help ease the awkward tension, being in his room I could tell made him slightly more relaxed than normal.

"So... um, you have a really nice place." My hand gestured outwards as I tried to fill the air with conversation, gaze travelling between the floor and his stare.

"Mhm." A beat. "You're nervous." His lips pressed together at the statement.

I bit my lip, eyes darting to the side before resting on his again. "A little, yeah."

"Why?"

I took a second to gather my thoughts, still chewing on my bottom lip. "To be honest, I wasn't sure you were going to talk to me again."

He hummed in response, mouth turning down slightly.

"Just because, well, having only us in a hospital room is a lot different than being back at our jobs." I was quick to explain myself, not wanting to hurt his feelings. "You run this place, I just work here, I figured you would be too busy doing First Order stuff."

He was peering down at me, studying my face with hands clasped behind his back. My hands nervously tugged at my jumper under his observation.

"I guess I was just caught off guard, you know?" I continued, praying my explanation made sense.

"I understand." His gaze softened slightly. "Are you afraid of me?"

"What? No, we've been through this." I peered up at him, his features were unreadable.

"Yes, but that was when I was injured."

"Well you did promise not to kill me, so I am hoping you keep your word." I joked, his face remained stony.

I rolled my eyes at his lack of a reaction, body now relaxed. "Kylo, I am not scared of you okay? I respect you, and those are two very different things." My tone was confident, trying to convince him of my true feelings.

After a long pause under his observatory gaze he finally spoke. "Good."

I smiled genuinely before my thoughts questioned why he invited me here, I was positive it wasn't just to have a conversation.
