I was buzzing with excitement as my feet carried me towards the bunkers, an odd sense of familiarity taking over as I glanced around. Everything was the same, it was if I had never left, the walls were dark and metallic, there was that faint hum of footsteps and voices echoing from every direction, groups of soldiers dressed in white and black marched the halls. I paid no attention to the odd looks shot at me, knowing that walking around in a medical gown isn't an image this part of the base was used to.

The sights around me were comforting in a way, I was now back in familiar territory, no more bright walls and medical smells, or doctors and nurses dressed in white coats. Leaving the medical wing was like being transported to another planet, there was a major shift in energy, a shift I had embraced with open arms.

I focused in on my footsteps, which echoed loudly on the hard floor, turning down hallways until I reached the living sector. It was rearing 1700, meaning people would be in their bunks, the common lounge, or headed to supper. The sight of troopers out of uniform just hanging around and talking sent a flurry of nerves to my core. I worried about their reaction to me, it was extremely rare for a stormtrooper to stay longer than a week in the medical wing.

I played with the hem of my dress, now slightly uncomfortable with how I was dressed. It was harder to ignore the odd looks sent by my fellow troopers, I wanted to be swallowed up by the floor. Eventually I made it to my room, 354, exhaling loudly.

I tried to open the door, but my body was frozen in place. Uninvited thoughts penetrated my mind, I worried my bed would be filled, or that my fellow bunk mates wouldn't be pleased to see me. Shaking my thoughts away, I took a deep breath, hand reaching out for the red button situated beside the door.

It opened, I studied my sights before gingerly entering. The room had that same dark grey metal for the walls and floor, the area was long and narrow, with 5 sets of individual bunk beds lining the side walls. I didn't remember the room being so small, there was so little walking room, it made my previous location look like a palace.

Troopers were situated in different positions atop their beds, a few looked up at me - faces strewn with mixtures of confusion and distaste, but mostly void of any emotion at all. I studied the room, noticing three new faces, my heart sunk realizing I had lost some roommates during that last mission.

I focused my gaze to the right end of the room, where JN-1615 and me shared a bunk. Walking over, I noticed the top bed was empty, relief flooded through me knowing they kept my spot open. My gaze traveled down, a figure laid on the bed below facing the wall, eyes closed and knees brought up to their chest.

Recognizing JN-1615 made my heart swell, I was finally seeing her after a week of being apart. My hand slowly found its way to her shoulder, shaking lightly to get her attention. Her head slowly turned in my direction, a cross between sadness and anger resided on her features. At the sight of me her eyes widened, I smiled big as she sat up in her bed, blinking profusely as a look of pure confusion spread across her face.

"What the fuck?" She mumbled quietly, reaching a hand out to poke my arm. Upon feeling I was real, her body shot out of the bed, arms attacking me in a giant hug as she let out a loud squeal.

I held on tightly, hit with a million emotions, as my head nestled into her shoulder. We stayed like that for a few moments, clinging to each other as if our lives depended on it. I could feel eyes situated on us, but I didn't pay them any attention, too wrapped up in absolute bliss from reuniting with my best friend, no my sister.

"What the fuck happened?" A beat. "I thought you died, you kriffing choobie!" She broke our embrace, eyes intensely staring into mine.

"I am happy to see you too." I chuckled, smile widening at the sight of her face. Studying her features I noticed her long blonde hair was messy appearing unwashed, face was tinged red and slightly swollen, her bright blue eyes didn't hold that same spark from last I saw her.
