"I want you to let me read your mind." I stated casually, fixing my hair as I followed Kylo into our training room.

Every morning for the past three days we had been working on my force connection, I was getting better each day. He continued to use pain and anger to fuel my power, however I noticed I didn't have to think as hard to get those same rocks to float around the room, by day three it became second nature, all I had to do was give my mind control and they would move as I willed. I am pretty sure Kylo regrets ever training me in the first place, our quarters had quickly turned into my testing grounds and I'm certain by now I had force-lifted every object in sight.

Today he said I was ready to move on. Finally.

"That's never going to happen, my mind is sealed." He chuckled, earning a pout from myself.

"That's not fair." I whined, placing my hands on my hips while facing him.

"It requires a lot of power to peer into the strong minded."

"Bold of you to think you're strong minded." I teased, lips curling into a smirk.

"Is that a challenge?" His eyebrow rose in amusement while his eyes darkened.

"I've been practicing on the troopers in the hallway, trust me I'm getting good."

"By all means then, go ahead. Apprentice." His lips curled at his last word, apprentice was quickly becoming my nick name and always seemed to amuse him - no doubt because it showed the power he held over me. Kylo and his ego.

"I don't have an ego, I just know I'm the best." He mused confidently, I noticed his chest rise slightly as he spoke.

"Hey, I am supposed to be doing the mind reading Kylo." My eyes narrowed on his, inside I was excited he was letting me try, I could not wait to peer into that brain of his.

His dark eyes were fixated on mine, flickering with amusement. I reached my hand up to touch his temple, similar to they way he did to delve into my thoughts. Our faces were close, my eyes bore into his as I concentrated hard, using all my energy to break into his mind. His smug grin never left his face which only caused me to focus harder, looking through his eyes I mentally reached in with my hand. There was a solid invisible wall blocking my actions, my eyebrows scrunched together as I tried to break through, with no such luck.

"Come on, just give me something." I half pleaded, my eyes were still focused on looking through his as my entire body tensed. Kylo smirked before a single thought floated through his wall and into my mind.

"Seven? Really?" I huffed, dropping my hand in defeat. I was disappointed, yet quite amazed with the strength of his mind. "Okay, wipe that smug look off your face."

He hummed in amusement. "Someone is a sore loser. I did warn you." He spoke matter of factually, body rising slightly as my face moved away from his.

"Let it be known that I will break though, eventually." My eyes narrowed at him, a scowl found its way to my lips.

"Sure."

"Let's just start." I huffed, not wanting to continue this horribly thought out plan any further, loosing to Kylo was probably the most irritating thing in the entire galaxy, I wanted only to wipe that smirk right off his face.

"Today we start working on your combat and defense skills." He spoke while grabbing two large wooden sticks from the back of the room.

I bounced excitedly on my feet at his words. "Great! I can't wait to kick your ass."

"Your overconfidence is amusing." Kylo spoke while walking towards me, I rolled my eyes as he placed one of the sticks in my hand.

Immediately I started twirling it around, my body knew exactly how to use it as if I had been practicing for years. My body hummed excitedly, this weapon of sorts fit perfectly in the palm of my hand, a part of me considered I would be able to actually take him down.
