"So, um, I guess this is it?" I awkwardly shuffled on my feet, JN-1615 stood before me with eyes glazed over.
She hadn't said a word to me since I informed her of my move, only continued to lean against our back wall with a blank stare the entire time I packed up my minimal items.
"I can't believe this is happening right now." She mumbled, still staring off into the distance. I felt guilty this was sprung on her so suddenly, we had been living together since day one, and now I was about to abandon her.
"Yeah me either." I spoke softly, earning a sigh from my friend. "But hey, its not like we won't ever see each other again. This base isn't that big, and I promise to visit whenever I can."
She turned her head to look at me, eyes filled with sorrow, the sight caused my heart to sink into my chest.
"It won't be the same." She whispered, looking as if tears were about to spill from her eyes at any moment.
"I know."
"I am going to miss you." My heart shattered at her words, memories of our past began to flicker across my mind, causing a single tear to escape my eye and roll down my face.
Instantly I pulled her into a tight embrace, mumbling into her shoulder as hot tears now freely fell. "I am going to miss you too."
She held me back tighter, as if I would float away out of her embrace.
"Gods we're pathetic." She sniffled through a laugh into my shoulder.
Our embrace broke, both our hands remained glued to each others as we just stared into tear filled eyes.
I watched heartbroken as her eyebrows knit together in sorrow as painful thoughts ran across her mind. "We will never go to meetings together, o-or load up in the c-carrier, or a-annoy each other as w-we try to fall asleep, or-" She chocked out, but I was quick to silence her.
"Stop that. You are supposed to be the positive one. We still have so many adventures ahead, ones to go through together." I spoke, while wiping the tears from her face.
"Yes b-but it isn't the same."
"Why does it feel like we're going through a break up?" I sniffled, trying to lighten the mood. Instead it caused her to cry out.
"Because we are." She wailed, eyes meeting mine again.
"JN, I would never break up with you, I love you too much."
"N-not even if I tell you right now you look like crap?" She sniffled, there was a playful innocence to her tone.
I smiled, that's the JN-1615 I know and love. "No not even then, but thanks for that."
She took a deep breath, releasing me from her hold. Her expression changed back to normal as she wiped the last of the tears from her eyes.
"You better DataChat and HoloCall me all the time, you hear me? When my notifications pop up you need to immediately respond, drop whatever you are doing." Her finger pointed strictly in my face, she was dead serious.
"Yes of course." I chuckled, now wiping my own face free from my remaining tears.
"I mean everything, even if you and Kylo Ren are in the middle of gods know what." Her eyes narrowed at me before her lips curved into a wide grin.
"Really?" My face dropped, eyes narrowing in on her.
"What?" She asked faking innocence.
"You had to bring that up now of all times?"
