I woke up Sunday afternoon after one of the best sleeps of my life, but my mind wandered immediately to mine and Thalia's phone call and I wondered if she had slept as well as I had which I really doubted she had.

I was having very mixed emotions about the whole situation with her and it was really stressing me out. On one hand, I liked her. That was simple enough, I mean it's hard not to have at least a little crush on someone so naturally stunning, funny, caring... But it wasn't a little crush. For example, kissing her obviously felt completely new and it felt as if I'd never kissed anyone before because they simply didn't compare. But it wasn't just kissing her that made me feel so euphoric, it was simply being around her. How her I was beginning to identify the difference between the fake laugh she did around her annoying co-workers and the seemingly real laughs I got to hear when she was with her friends, or even me.

On the other hand, I knew that the fact we had kissed or even been in each other's presence outside of school could get her in trouble and that was the last thing I wanted.

I thought again about our call. She sounded just as attractive over the phone, if not more.

If her looking at me didn't turn me on enough her talking to me definitely managed to do the trick.

I began contemplating sending her a text to the number she called me from since it must have been her mobile. But as I was racking my brain of what I would say, my idiot brother burst into my room.

"Guess what!" He shouted standing on the end of my bed as I sat up and rubbed my eyes, still not fully awake.

"Jesus Christ, what?"

"Romeo finally let me off the hook!" He shouted and tried to do some weird dance moves in celebration which, unsurprisingly, ended in him in a heap at the end of my bed, still with a smile on his face.

Romeo was my brother's 'boss'. At first, Isaac was just selling weed for him but when he lost money after a delivery he got a pair of black eyes and the punishment of having to distribute harder drugs like coke and even heroin a couple of times. Although he'd happily sell the weed he hated having to sell shit that was going to be putting people at more of a risk but the threats he received if he refused were worse than a few months of selling.

"Awhh no way! I'm genuinely happy for you mate, that's a weight lifted off your shoulders init!"

"Yeah 100% I'm buzzin'. Anyway it's like 3pm so you should probably get up cos I dunno if you;vegot homework or shit to do yenno?"

"Yeah, cheers." He bowed as he left my room and I tidied myself up in my bathroom before getting some 'breakfast' downstairs.

The rest of my day was spent doing leftover homework, a family facetime call which was extremely frustrating since neither my mum or dad can properly work technology, and a Netflix session with the leftover snacks from my Saturday night with J and Amie.

Jason and Amie picked me up at the usual time on Monday morning and I slid into the middle backseat.

"Hey motherfucker, what's with the weird vibe you immediately just brought into my car." Jason asked as he began the drive to school.

I had been nervous for today since I wasn't sure how to act around Gonzalez. I kept forgetting she was my teacher and the way she made me feel was definitely not professional. I was attempting to hide but apparently Jason could read me like a book.

"I don't feel like going to school today is all." I tried to convince them but when Amie turned to face me and raised an eyebrow I immediately cracked under her invisible force to get me to tell her anything, and told my friends about the confusing phone call.
