*A Week Later*
"Look at that," I happily sigh, placing my head on my hand as I stare out the window. The first snow gracefully falling to coat everything in place. "It is so pretty, and it is just so nice to see."
"Do you like winter?" Ruby asks, sketching out her final project.
"Skating around Stark's Pond is always fun," Karen rolls out some clay.
"I just love the way the snow looks as it falls," I slightly smile. "So pure and sparkly. To know that winter has now arrived. Oh, I just love it."
This snow also signifies how close to Christmas it now is. That we have finally made it to December. That Kenny's return is the closest that it has ever been. I'm happy to see the snow because it is pretty, sure, but it means so much more to me now.
"I can't believe it's already December," Karen shakes her head. "To think that the end of the semester is just around the corner. That we've already begun working on finals. That winter formal is next weekend."
"Ah, winter formal," I tear my gaze away from the window. "When did you go dress shopping?"
"Some time last month," Ruby answers. "What about you? I know that you don't hang out with the girls as a big group anymore, but I'm sure you went out to get a dress with someone."
I slightly smile, "I'm not going to winter formal this year."
"Really?"
"Ash and I tried to get her to go with someone else, like Butters or Red, but she wouldn't budge," Karen barely pouts.
I chuckle, "Even if I didn't go with anyone, it still just wouldn't feel right to me. I don't want to go without Kenny, and I don't want to deal with a certain Blonde Bomber. I'll work on my art all night long as I wait for my lovely sisters to return."
"There's nothing wrong with not wanting to go," Ruby shrugs. "You aren't required to go for any class."
"It's a time for everyone to get together and hang out, which is something that can be hard around here when we are all living our lives. We're all walking on our own paths. Last year was a lot of fun, and I know that people are going to be sad that I'm not going."
"What are you working on today?" Karen shifts the conversation.
"A little side comic to my Pokémon comic. Since the Naomi is the daughter of Red from the manga and Leaf from the original games, so this little comic is about them, and how they met all those years ago. I don't want to do a comic with them, at least not yet, so there is just these little comics."
"I like how you were able to use a world that Pokémon lovers know, yet put your own spin onto it," Ruby says. "All the kids going about their lives, but in their parent's footsteps, but they still love it just as much. What happens once she's made it through Kanto?"
"I might have her go to the next region, where I would have to create all new characters for the gym leaders, but I'm not even to the second gym, so there's a lot of time for me to figure everything out."
"I would like to see Red and Leaf's adventures," Karen giggles.
"That will probably happen," I nod. "Everyone already loves them from the brief moment that they appeared, which is the reason for this comic. I mean, I love them too, so I am perfectly okay with drawing them more."
"And The Stick?"
"I have been planning it, and it should be back in about a month."
