Chapter 23 - I Love Her: Part 2

Last Chapter~ After examining the Divine Beast Vah Rudania, Bludo agrees to help Zelda rebuild Hyrule. Paya and Zelda go out to explore Goron City. Zirin reveals he's apart of the Yiga clan, and kidnapped Zelda, but soon after, Link came to her rescue...

Zelda's P.O.V~

I pulled away from Link's lips, and looked to see if he was appalled my my actions... I don't think he is... surprised maybe?

"Give her back, Link!" Zirin screeched.

Both me and Link were brought back to reality.

Link wrapped me into a hug and pulled me to the ground, not even seconds later, an arrow hit the ground where I was sitting.

Was Zirin hoping Link would save me? Or... did he really have the intention of killing me here?

"Zirin! Why must you do this? Let's stop now before this gets out of hand." My words of peace didn't affect his poisoned mind.

"Zirin... Paya! Paya needs you!" My last attempt...

He looked at the ground, and back up with tears.

"She hates me. For what I am. She doesn't need me..." He wiped his tears, and raised his weapon higher. Signaling Link he wasn't backing down.

Zirin appeared in front of Link and with a swift motion, tried to cut him. Link held him off and catapulted him backwards.

Zirin then pulled out a Lynel bow, with three arrows pointed at Link. He released them, but Link used Daruks Protection to quickly stop them.

"AGGGGHH" Zirin shouted, angry.

He ran towards Link, picking up speed and swung his sickle at him multiple times. Link countered it time and time again, completely on the defense. Zirin lost his composure, and left himself wide open. Link attacked Zirin with the dull end of his sword, though that didn't seem to be enough to stop him.

Zirin circled around Link. Instead of waiting, Link used Urbosas Fury. Zirin was electrocuted, and dropped to the ground.

Link and Zirin went on attacking each other, until finally, Zirin realized he truly could not win.

"I yield." Zirin said dully.

He threw his weapon to the ground, and Link picked it up.

"Who are you? Why are you traveling with us?" Link asked, angirly.

"My name is truly Zirin. My mission was to bring the princess back to our hideout." He answered.

"Then why.." I butted in, "why did it take so long?"

"I was distracted..."

"Distracted? Zirin you were in love!" He wouldn't look at me.

"You're right... I loved her." He said, sadly.

I bent down to Zirins eye level, "I know in my heart you aren't a bad person. So why are you doing this? Tell me." I begged.

"In a way... I was born into the Yiga clan. My mother was apart of it when she died, and I never knew my father. The Yiga clan are my family, my parents. But things changed when I got older. When you reach a certain age you go out into the world to steal from 'bad people', but really it was people that weren't us. One day, they ordered me for the first time to kill someone, of course, I couldn't do it... which made me realize that not all of the people I stole from were bad. They were all innocent. I made it clear I wanted nothing to do with them, they threatened my sisters life."

"Sister?"

"My little sister, Vanya, is only 12... My mom died during childbirth... she's all I have left... I have to protect her."

"Then, lets go!" I said. "Here's the plan..."

...

"Zirin! You've returned." Master Kohga announced, excited.

"With the princess, too." Zirin added.

Master Kohga took off the black sack covering my eyes, and looked at me.

"By Ganon, it is the princess! Great work."

"May I see my younger sister?" Zirin pleaded.

"Who?... Oh! Vanya, yes- sure do whatever you want." Kohga placed the bag back over my head.

I was taken to a cell, well at least I assume, considering I cant see anything.

Not long after, the rattling of keys and whispering voices came closer towards me.

"Princess, its me. My sister is here and I have the keys... lets get out of here, for good."  Again, the sack was removed from my head, from a young girl who looks identical to Zirin.

We started running to the exit, where Link was waiting for us with sand seals.

"Aha! Wait right there... almost had me didn't you?" I couldn't place where the voice was coming from but one thing I knew for sure... it was Master Kohga.

A hand was placed on my shoulder, and it threw me backwards into a wall...

When I opened my eyes, Link and Zirin were battling Kohga, and Vanya was sitting next to me, watching with so much fear and worry...

"Vanya... don't worry." I comforted.

"Miss! Or- princess... are you ok? Does your head hurt?"

I sat up, trying to determine if I was ok myself.

"Vanya... as soon as there is an opening, I'm getting you out of here. So when I say run... run." I said, determined.

"Ok... but how about big brother and your friend?" She asks worried.

"They will be ok... they're some of the toughest warriors I know." I smiled at her, and she smiled back.

Kohga and Link were throwing blows back and forth, while Zirin was supporting him by shooting arrows of all kinds... it seemed it was working. Kohga was getting tired, and weak. It wouldn't be long before they defeated him. Which is exactly why we have to run before he calls his foot soldiers.

Kohga was thrown on his back, with a pained yell.

"RUN." I grabbed Vanyas hand, and ran as fast as I could towards the sand seals. Zirin and Link were behind us, making sure we made it.

Link suddenly grabbed hold of me, and Zirin grabbed his sister. They both took out their shields and started riding the sand seals.

Link held me tightly so I wouldn't fall...

I turned my head to look at his face... strong and focused...

Once again, I couldn't help but give him a kiss.

He kissed back, then smiled.
