I opened my eyes, she was screaming... again. She had been having nightmares the last couple nights, it always ended with her screaming, me waking up and going to comfort her. The first couple of times I had been sure that she was faking it, trying to get help. I had always run down to her when it was, but one night everything changed. I had hammered the door open, and she had screamed. She was laying on the bed, writhing around like she was in pain, she had been all sweaty. She had been ripping in the rope holding her like she was trying to defend herself. When I had touched her she just screamed even louder and then she had finally opened her eyes. She then cried by my shoulder the rest of the night and whenever I tried leaving her she kept asking me to stay... So that's what I did.
I opened the door, she was sitting in the corner of the bed, as far up against the wall as she could come, she was shaking and the tears rolled down her cheeks. She was crying silently. She looked up at me. I walked over to her and grabbed her wrists when she flinched and ripped them towards herself, it was almost if I had burnt her. I grabbed her hand and looked at her wrists, they were bloody somewhere other places they were bruised red and blue. She looked away ashamed. I grabbed her chin carefully and forced her to look at me. "Hey Sweety, it's okay... Just let me..." I tied up one end of the rope and tied it to the bed. "Like this... is it better now?" she nodded, I could see the happiness that I had trusted her enough to do it in her eyes. She sent me a weak smile "I'll go get some bandages" I got up and went up to get them. "Thank you..." she whispered behind my back. I smiled she had never thanked me before. I went back into the cellar and made sure that her wrists were protected from the rope. She looked at me with relief in her eyes, I tucked her back in and leaned in to give her a kiss on her forehead, she had been behaving well these days. She flinched and turned her head away from me, I patted her on the head and left. I sighed, I would soon make her love me... I hoped.
