A week had gone by and it was the same old routine. Drills and repairs. Drills and repairs. There had been a few short missions to get supplies. There were a lot of soldiers in the Resistance and we were always in need of supplies. Mainly food for everyone and fuel for the planes. Which were almost always in need of repairs of some sort.

"Naaraa!"

I turned to see Rose Tico, a maintenance worker. She was a kind person though I didn't know her very much. We had talked a few times but I usually kept my circle of friends limited to Tallie, Jess, and Stomeroni. I did like Rose though. She was a friendly person and her sister was pretty nice too.

"Yes?" I asked.

Rose stopped a few feet from me. "Do you need any help? I finished all of my duties for the day."

I nodded. "Yeah, I have some things to do on my x-wing. Do you know how to do repairs on that kind of ship?"

Rose nodded.

I jerked my head. "Let's go then. I actually need an extra set of hands."

Rose followed me to my ship. I always maintained it so the problems were far between, though not rare or big. The problem that Rose was helping me with was an engine problem. It gave me the most problems. I climbed onto a ladder, Rose climbing the other side. I talked her through what we were going to do. Rose was pretty talented with the tools, giving me a run for my money.

As we worked, we chatted a little. Rose talked about her life growing up and why she joined the Resistance. I mentioned a few things about my childhood, not wanting to mention much. I did give one of the reasons why I joined the Resistance. There were, of course, many reasons why. Kylo Ren was one of them. We had both been trained under Luke Skywalker at the same, though I had finished before he had. I had been sent on a mission when he committed his atrocious act on the poor padawans. Part of me regrets not being there and fighting Kylo but I was lucky to get out alive. I joined the Resistance, hoping to never meet or face Kylo again. He was one of my biggest fears and I wasn't ready to face him quite ready.

By the end of the day, the engine had been fixed and a few other minor problems. When we finished, it was dinner time. Rose and I walked toward the mess room, talking and laughing. When we got our food, we joined Tallie, Jess, and Stomeroni. Rose fit right in with my little group of friends. She was accepted almost immediately.

Poe joined us halfway through the meal. He looked exhausted but kept up with the laughter and teasing. I kept an eye on him as we ate. He would keep looking at me though I didn't know if he noticed that I saw him. After a few minutes, I ignored him and continued on with the conversation.

After the meal, I headed toward my room. BB-40 stayed by my side, chirping and whirring loudly. I laughed along with her as we made it to my hallway. Poe came around the corner at the other end and smiled when he saw us.

"Hey!" He greeted.

I stopped. "Hey. How are you doing?"

"Great," Poe replied. "What about you? How was your day?"

"It was pretty good," I replied. "I mostly just fixed my x-wing with Rose. She's pretty handy and good with her hands."

"That's great," Poe said. "I enjoyed dinner tonight."

"It's the same old stuff that we've been eating for months," I said. "How could you enjoy it?"

Poe chuckled. "It was more or less the company but yeah, a little. It's comforting."

I snorted. "If you like that kind of thing. I'm going to head to bed. Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Lieutenant. I'll see you in the morning."
