Paranoia

Jay drove to the district after the little drive they took around the neighborhood they entered and as he parked the car in the parking lot of the district, Hailey was still looking around to see if they were followed but there were barely any cars passing on the street. She started thinking that the bad feeling that she had might just be nothing but her paranoia and she decided to get out of the car. Hailey got out of the car just to see Jay leaning by the side of the car, patiently waiting for her.

"You alright in there," Jay asks in a concerned voice as he looks at Hailey with a concerned look on his face. "Yeah," Hailey nods, "I just got a bad feeling but I think it was just my paranoia," Hailey honestly tells Jay. Unlike before, Hailey couldn't really find it in her to hide something from Jay anymore, she felt like she could tell Jay anything she wants because she knew that he would always be there for her but there was just this one thing she couldn't seem to say to him.

"You wanna talk about it," Jay asks knowing that most of Hailey's gut feelings were right. Before Hailey could reply to Jay's question, she sees two people exiting the district behind Jay, they were talking and laughing with each other, it was Kevin and Vanessa. Jay turned around to see what Hailey was looking at, everyone in the intelligence unit could probably see how those two looked great together and their chemistry could be seen in the way they do things as partners but they also wondered if they were something more.

"Are they a thing," Jay asks Hailey without looking at her, knowing that since Hailey and Vanessa live together, she might know something that the rest of the unit don't. Hailey was just silent which made Jay turn to look at her but as his eyes land on Hailey, their eyes met. Jay was suddenly looking into Hailey's beautiful blue eyes that just made all his worries and everything around him turn into nothing.
