Breakfast

Lizzie woke up to the sound of her blaring alarm from her phone, she hits the stop button and quickly gets up from her bed. She usually doesn't get up this fast, and even though she just had little sleep the night before, she didn't feel tired, because knowing that Vanessa might've something to share with her, gave her so much energy to get up this morning, and she also smelled breakfast being made downstairs, which was new, so she quickly got dressed, grabbed her things for school, and rushed downstairs. As she was headed down the stairs, the aroma of breakfast being made grew stronger. She gets to the kitchen and immediately stops in her tracks as she sees who was making breakfast, and says, "Hey."

Kevin stops what he was doing to turn and look at Lizzie, "Sup." Lizzie immediately notices that Kevin had this big smile on his face as he went back to making breakfast. "What are you doing," Lizzie asks in a suspicious voice, as she approaches one of the bar stools to sit on. "Breakfast," Kevin says in a happy voice, not noticing how a smile was now starting to form on Lizzie's face as she imagined what he and Vanessa did last night.

Then, after noticing how Kevin was not giving her any details, Lizzie immediately got annoyed at him, so she asked, "Why the one word answers?" This time Kevin didn't answer her which made her imagination grow wild, she looks at Kevin with a smirk and asks, "You ask her out, didn't you?" Kevin abruptly stops what he was doing and turns to look at Lizzie with a shocked look on his face, and asks, "How did you—," he stops, realizing something else as his expression changed from shocked to suspicion, "Hold up, were you listening to us last night," he asks in a suspicious voice while eyeing Lizzie. "Nah, I didn't really need to do that to know this. It was just the look on your face that gave it all away, and the way you reacted to my question," Lizzie smiled as she said it. This time, the sound of footsteps can be heard coming down the stairs.

As Vanessa walks down the stairs, she could hear Lizzie and Kevin talking, and she knew that Lizzie was really enjoying this morning knowing that Kevin slept over. She enters the kitchen, and she immediately sees Lizzie's big smile that she knew very well, pointed right at her. Lizzie grabs a toast from the countertop, "Gotta go, enjoy breakfast, bye," she says, rushing to the front door not wanting to let her presence ruin what Vanessa and Kevin might have, but she stops before exiting the house, and turns around to say, "Hey, V. I'm going to see Hailey after school, and don't worry I know how to get there. Please pick me up at Med, thanks," Lizzie exclaimed as she finally heads out the door without waiting for a response.

Kevin chuckles a bit as he shakes his head and gets back to making breakfast. "What," Vanessa asks as she hears Kevin chuckled then a realization hits her, "Does she know," she asks Kevin curiously. "I didn't tell her anything," Kevin says as he places a sunny side up egg on a plate, finishing making breakfast for Vanessa and himself. He looks at Vanessa and says, "All I can say is she's smart, and she can tell what's going on around her without us telling her." Vanessa smiles knowing that Lizzie is a very observant girl, then Vanessa takes a seat on one of the bar stools near the counter and starts eating the breakfast Kevin made. One bite in and Vanessa could tell that Kevin was a wonderful cook, she looks up at him and sees him just looking at her, she smiles and says, "It's delicious." Kevin gave Vanessa a satisfied smile and started eating his food. After a while of talking and eating, they both headed to work in Kevin's car.
